No matter where you go, the novelty is going to wear off. Had to learn a lot of English history to appreciate & understand the literature. Fascinating subject! Do you have a favorite period? Love Eleanor of Aquitaine! Really wanted to go up north, either New York or Boston, but snow & ice tend to lose their charm after a few days. When I was in school during the 70's, USF was a small liberal arts university, no football or frats and sororities. Was moderately radical; had a couple of intense demonstrations. Unlike Miami, Tampa was still very much the conservative South. Cops did not take kindly to us hippie types who opposed the war in Vietnam! Ah, yes. Grandma remembers LOL! ;3
Is that the US or UK? What's your area of concentration? I got my degrees at Univ. of South Florida in Tampa. FL. The city sucked, but loved the school! Got my teaching degree at FIU (Fla. International Univ.) here in Miami. Daughter just got her undergrad degree in nutrition from FIU in Dec. She's taking some time off to get a life which I highly recommend!
I'm an English teacher. No jobs right now, so I've been substituting. No, no playing on the computer at school. I don't have online access, but I know from the kids that a lot of "recreational" sites are blocked. Even though a lot of kids have their own laptops, as soon as they plug into the school system, no more games. I'm sure there are ways around it, but you can still get busted for trying. Are you in school? ;3
