I am doing fine, it is getting cooler here also. Sometimes it is hard to tell from one day to the next what to expect. Sounds like you are having fun with your kittehs. There is nothing quite like having a new one introduced into your home, there is always room for just one more (a true crazy cat lady statement ;)

U will have to go to the actual page to get the link to her dissertation as it won't work here from the DB.
Linke to pg 12 below. Text with the post here. Kate Miltner recently received her Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics for her 98-page dissertation on the appeal of LOLCats. That’s right, Cheezfrends, we’re the focus of some SRS ACADEMIC STUDIES! She found that LOLCats consumers tend to fall into one of three groups. The first group, “Cheezfrenz,” should sound more than a little familiar to some of us: The first group, which Miltner labeled “Cheezfrenz,” was made up of LOLCats diehards. “They are invested LOLCat lovers whose interest in LOLCats generally stems from their affinity for cats,” she explains. They tended to be involved in I Can Haz Cheezburger (sic), the website of the LOLCat-loving community. Miltner found that for these women (and they were all women in her sample), the ICHC community appealed because it was, in the words of one “Cheezfrend” “a place to be safe and kind” for people who “want to be nice, want to be happy, want to give support, want to smile.” Cheezfrenz recognized and bonded with each other (i.e. formed an in-group, in sociology-speak) by their correct use of LOLspeak (the grammar and spelling of LOLCats). The second group, which Miltner calls “MemeGeeks,” is predominately male and is more interested in creating LOLCats that refer to more obscure memes. Their community is centered more around Tumblr and Reddit. The third group is the “casual users” group. This group is split evenly between males and females. People in this group find and share LOLCats with their friends and family while bored at work. Regardless of the group, however, Miltner says, “When it came to LOLCats, sharing and creating were often different means to the same end: making meaningful connections with others.” In this way, she argues, fans both hardcore and casual enrich society and make people smarter. We’d have to agree! You can read Miltner’s dissertation here (PDF). http://icanhascheezburger.com/page/12/
Was looking for this. Kate Milner received her Master's with a disseration on LOLCats. She came to the same conclusion I did a long time ago - way different demographics dependng on which type of group u belong to. U and I and all our frens are the community based group. Then there are the memrgeeks (mostly men) and the casual user. The casual user for all of ICHC way outwrighs the community groups. ICHC gets over M hits a month and and most are casual users. Here is the URL for that post - it is currently on pg 12. I've also copied the text that came with it in case u can't get to the other. Also gives the PDF for the dissertation. But will send that in next message cus it'z not gonna all fit on one msg.

You and I have so much in common with the rescues and I also have a cat with different color eyes. I respect you very much. Thanks for fav'n my Lol's, I love making them. Hugs, Millie
Croci were lovely this year - mebbe cuz they were up in February! Tulips were not so good and my white azaela has a yellow branch (???), but a wonderful thing happened to my weeping cherry. We put it in 10 years ago, but it never bloomed. The nursery said sometimes the graft doesn't take and it never does flower. Mom was weeding and cleaning a few weeks ago when she ran in the house yelling "You gotta come see this!". I thought there was a body in the side garden! It turns out the weeping cherry was blooming!! Not a lot of flowers, but more than one. I thought it would never happen. It's been a very bizzare spring. Can't wait for summer..
