i have a friend who fosters cats and they are an endless source of amusement. life here is perpetually busy. quite a lot hit the fan back in january thanks to a colleague with an inflated sense of self that thought i insulted him behind his back. definitely something i dislike about academia - the huge egos. but the research is endlessly interesting. the cats are good, i look forward to gardening again and taking a little holiday in three weeks. any holidays for you?
happy howl-oween to you too. how is your novel coming? and your studies? hopefully smoothly, though I liken academia to the greek myth of sisyphus, who was condemned by the gods to roll a boulder up a hill every day until eternity, but he could never get it over the crest of the hill and it would roll back to the same place he started...and it went on and on! but it is those 'eureeka' moments that make research so great =^..^=
very cool! when i was writing up my dissertation i often thought thesis-writing went thru the same stages as grieving: first there was denial, then anger, then depression, bargaining and finally acceptance! and i went through those stages on a daily basis, it seemed! the publishing process is painfully slow. i have that issue wit ecology journals. but it's definitely worth the wait...hang in there and relish the creative process! =^..^=
