They do get to your heart. I lost my special little shadow a couple of days after my birthday. She almost made it to 16. Her siblings are doing well. They were a rescue litter that I never could find homes for (lucky for me). This poor old boy that got returned was just so sad it broke our hearts. She even told us that before she whacked him, he had been cuddling with her. (Evil woman).
