Hello, it's been a long time since we posted. I hope that your New Year is going well. As to the collectibles, I got started late on them b'cause I was having computer and server problems. I was really nonchalant abt them for quite a while. Then I got drawn into finishing my collections & helping others. Doing that has really stimulated more conversations and I've met 3 or 4 new CFs w. similar interests, like quilting and horses.
Glad that you are doing better. Thanks for the wishes for my m-i-l. The family thinks of her as our own "Energizer Bunny" - keeps on going when we don't think it's possible. She was the oldest of 9 children & over 1/2 of them passed away w. cardiac conditions at an early age. (One of my husband's uncles is younger than Hubby!) She had heart attacks followed by a triple bypass at the Cleveland Clinic over 30 yrs. ago! Since then, she's had many more cardiac problems, BC, etc. Abt. 5 yrs ago, the drs. found 2 cerebral aneurysms . They can't operate on the heart because of the an. & can't operate on the aneurysms because of her heart. Now she's on a bunch of meds for Congestive heart Failure & other problems. Anyhow, the family says that as long as the grandkids keep getting married (3 are still unmarried) & having great-grands, she'll keep ticking so she can see those events. ;-) Our boys are doing their part - she & my f-i-l were able to fly out twice to Wyoming for their weddings - one in 2000, and one in 2003. (First flight for both grandparents) Now, since she can't fly, our sons & d-i-ls make certain there are plenty of pics, skype, phone calls, etc. Plus, they try to drive or fly back to WV at least once per year. Our younger son & his family plan to visit in the fall w. toddler & baby- while older son & his wife are expecting their 2nd addition in Nov. Other grandchildren live in WV & PA, & niece & nephews & their branch of the family live in VA & have "camps" (houses to me) not far from us. So, there are plenty of reunions.
*Do* keep us posted as you can. Our thoughts & best wishes go with you & stay with you. j I hope to be writing more than I have lately - my m-i-l has been in & out & back in the hospital lately, so I've been trying to pick up some of Hubby's work that I'm allowed to do - like mowing, garbage pick-up, campground maintenance, etc.
Not at all, I would be happy to! And I'm very sorry to hear that you've had to endure so many losses! I have to say, I've been "fortunate" in that way, Last August was a couple close calls, (1st, me w/ raging abcess infections that nearly went to my brain, the very next day (after I was released from the hospital, my pregnant sister was rushed in w/ toxemia, she and the baby were a less than a couple hrs away from dying (that's what the Doc said). Fortunately, my sis & her baby pulled thru & are doing very well now.
I want to make an lol for furrgy's passing of her mother. When I do, would you mind forwarding the link to her? I had already friend requested her last week, & the request is pending. I know now that she had much more going on than Cheezland. My thoughts and prayers are with her. I lost my mother in 1985, my aunt (who was like a mother to me) in 1998, my father in 2001, and my nephew in 2006. So, I feel not only sympathy, but also empathy for her.
