Some cats are even born blind and end up doing quite well. They are amazing creatures. It's just very hard for Jerry because he's so old. Poor fellow can't jump up or down onto anything. The blindness came after one of his seizures from the brain CA. He's had several seizures :( I shouldn't bother you with all this - it's just all I can think of these days. Have a good evening.

Unfortunately they can, though it's rare and a bit more common in dogs. He started by hanving seizures and now he's blind and walks like a drunken sailor and yowls piteously especially at night. He is so obviously freaked. Most nights I sleep on the floor with him because he can't get up on anything or he'll fall off. I adore this cat. I have loads of LOLs posted here with him (and my other cat, Lolly). He's quite a character (aren't they all?).

JerryGarcia (my older cat) is almost 19 and was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago, so we've known this was coming...but somehow, it just doesn't make it any easier :(

Not a good day here. My 18 year old cat is dying so will be taking him in to vet tomorrow to be put down. Very sad. Sorry to be a downer, but such is life.
