Barty died on June 10. He wasn't getting any better, and wasn't responding to the medicine. We had a couple more tests done, CAT Scans? - and he had a severe case of restrictive cardiomyopathy as well as fluid in his abdomen from an unknown source. His heart wasn't pumping very much blood. Vet said that with treatment, he might live a few more months, but what would be the point? But he wasn't going to enjoy life anymore, so I saw him off on his trip to the Bridge. The evening before I took him to be hospitalized we had a fried chicken party. We all enjoyed that! May have been his last good meal.

I'm so sorry the news isn't better. I know very well the fear and grief that settles in when our little ones are hurt or sick. So helpless--and they can't tell us what's wrong. I'll continue praying comfort for you both. {{{Jajeh}}}{{{Barty}}}

By "leave" I meant, as to go the Bridge, not just leave the vet's and go back to my apartment, though I think he'd like to do that, too.

Thanks for praying for Barty-Bu and me, and for thinking of us! We really appreciate it. I saw him this morning and the vet's and am supposed to take him home tonight. He looks terrible! Totally listless, and I think he's lost more weight. When I brought him in, he tried to jump off the examination table and growled. Now - nothing! No fight or spunk. He just sat there. I think the might want to leave. I won't be surprised if I lose him.
