Messages between Klea and catsuberalles
Right...um. Remember that you and I know that "the message that gets sent to people is ICHC's wording, not that of the giver," but the uninterested people likely do not, hence the irritation. (I didn't, at first.) As for public record, yes of course he kept my messages, it was my intent to help him out by echoing his message back to him, because it's such agony for him to type. What can I say - I've been in situations where trivialities become gross irritants due to pain (fortunately short-lived) - so I _really_ empathize. As well, mentioning third parties in a message is a distraction that always clouds the content. Also, there's a difference between people ED-ing DB messages and getting their curiosity sufficiently aroused to follow the "jump" and read the entire message. If I ever feel the need to include semi-sensitive content in a message, I make sure it comes after the first one hundred [100] characters (the number that appear on DBs.) ** I'll be jumping back and forth between here and MusicLols, please excuse me if I'm gone for a bit.
Dear Klea, computers are mindless, you have to remember that...I've never been interested as you know, yet people would send me Collectibles because "it says you're one of the people who 'Needs this.'" As I'd patiently explain, that is a mindless database correlation. It describes "the way it is" - i.e., Jack/Jill cheezfrend [not] having the collectible - versus a state of mind (cheezfrend [not] wanting the collectible). In the end - when multiple giving became possible - I just threw 'em all in Sylvia's lap ("let her give 'em out"). But that's me...I don't have a chronic condition that makes my every movement agony, thank G-D. Seems to me the fun of any endeavor here or anywhere is lost if our priorities get out of order...I love the cheezfriends I made here and try to accomodate them as best I can, and I hate to see you or anyone unhappy. PS In line with the above note about "Needs this," it would be a good idea to check profiles...as I said, just because the system says "needs" doesn't mean "wants." Please, one more? Generally, please don't mention my name in messages...I'm a bad little wizard who mostly tries to keep a low profile and stay out of trouble. Sometimes I actually succeed. ;) Take care, Senora.
"I have yet to learn how to use a digital camera" - you have to start with the simplest model available, and leave it on "Auto" until you learn more. I find them liberating - no "wait till the roll is finished to get it developed," no film and developing expense, no wasted film [just delete], instant quality control [whoops didn't come out, take another shot], take "elebenty" shots with a large memory card [not a couple dozen], even take rudimentary videos [some cameras can; have you seen my Silvertoes videos? links below]...probably missing several key points. Which page of your Pics is Maddy on? *** "all she was interested in was making enough money to buy more canvas and top up her supply of paint, charcoal, and turpentine." - Wow, I know that feeling! "I've made tentative inquiries to our local museum about whether they'd be interested in them" - now there you are, see. If you had a digital camera you could take a few shots and email them to the curator. Oh - "'better' agent" was tongue in cheek, didn't mean to imply I thought she had one but that she should have had one. But as you said, her vision wasn't financial, her horizons were limited to her canvas. *** "Trading Spaces" ep. - sounds like "see how you like it!" ** Videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZUfuzhVolk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KIvFbNNDO8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGTlcH8WdCg - not enough light in the last one, sorry. Also the oldest, taken when ST was a kitten. ("teen," really.)
Nope, don't think you're biased, given that you've always seemed fair-minded in my estimation. The only question is, since your grandmother's art surpasses the Glenbow's collection, why didn't she have a better agent? (I say that only half in jest. And it's not too late...) re "what idiot thought that grey walls would be a good idea in an apartment?" - um, their last job was at a prison? (Sorry.) PS Have you uploaded any pictures of Maddy? I only looked at your last page of Pics, didn't see any... (yes, I'm lazy.)
The ones you bought are regular framed paintings, hanging on your walls? That must be neat. re "I hate to say it, but even my Maddy, who is also a black cat with yellow eyes, isn't as beautiful as this cat (at least not as far as being photogenic)." - we can't all be Bogie and Bacall, but second best is still pretty darn good. :)
The cat is a cutie, but is it the same cat? I love the way she says "I wont torture her again with it, I love my kitty very much, but... doesnt she look CUTE? :D" - good for you, Senora. There's a big gulf between "I would never do that to an animal" and "I would intervene to stop others from doing so" ('cause it's not hardly on par with serious offenses like abuse), but I *really* dislike non-functional doodads on cats. Gotta love those eyes, eh? Beauty. Thanks for the link.
Right..well...it's more than patience, it's...how shall I put this...the last time I collected any sort of trifle I was about seven [7] years old. Ergo, the level of adult interest surprised me, particularly spending real money [!] on Cheez Coins. Yikes! Hey, if anyone has money they'd like to toss...[g] OK, OK, sorry, don't wanna get snarky on you, just being honest and forthright about why I felt guilty about everyone else who has asked me in the past, given my about-face. re stressed cats, I finally put into "Feedback" a request for the ability to flag _pictures_ a well as lols. You know the drill - you flag a lol, one lol gets pulled while the other lols _and_ the picture stay. Not good. re Care2, unfortunately a quick Google search also came up with this article (check some of the comments): http://betanews.com/2011/12/30/hacked-environmental-activism-site-care2-users-exposed/ Good idea if it works, 'cause my naive innocence about this site is mostly gone. The cynical me says "This isn't a site for animal lovers, it's a site for people who like animal comedy." That realization hit me with this FP: http://icanhascheezburger.com/2012/01/16/funny-pictures-let-meh-re-finks-dis Look at the awful comment thread - people who object to abusive pictures on the FP are called "care trolls" and castigated for their "buzz kill." Ugly, ugly, ugly hearts. Thank goodness there _is_ a large contingent of real animal lovers on here.
Hi. Please 'scuse this "hit-and-run" message, I'm developing a headache and gotta head off soon...for now, "i hassa wonder" where some cats will go [to get out], and what is their source of oxygen. For example: http://cheezburger.com/builder#step2_64135168,http:/images.icanhascheezburger.com/imagestore/2008/2/8/7fc8f456-cb3f-4e70-9c6f-c067094c7287.jpg (sample lol http://cheezburger.com/View/275589376 ) PS Sorry for my apparent 180 on Collectibles, but as I told Sylvia, "when it was one at a time and several different people were inquiring after an activity in which I had no interest, I couldn't be bothered. Dumping the lot in one shot, on one person, is at least tolerable even though it did take some time."
Yes, it is an odd angle 'cause *I* took the picture, and it's hard to "shoot" that way. :) And oh, I was riffing on the popular joke around here, "If I can't have mine you can't have yours." At the time I don't notice his head being quite where it was... *shrug* You're right, most people will be scratching their heads. Oh well, thanks for the feedback.
Noticed you here, checked to see if I wished you well for 2012 and saw it was early, back on 26 December. How about a late "happy 2012" to match? ;) ** OK, question: where does this rank on your "naughty scale"? http://cheezburger.com/View/5669840640 Those are my legs getting their 15 minutes, and no, Silvertoes was *not* doing what my caption says he was doing. ("Silvertoes" is one of cheezfrend bgcmeowrrrr's cats and the cat in my avatar; the picture is from my trip this weekend.) Best, cua.
