Funnily enough, for me it started from Tumblrisms and Gamergate from IA. I eventually worked my way to Encyclopedia Dramatica, which in turn lead me to 8chan. I don't remember the specifics of how I got into /pol/, though. The reason it's funny that Gamergate was one of the start points for me is because it has virtually no effect on me because I don't game much. I do original research every now and then, but I'm one of the laziest bastards on the face of the planet, so it takes up very little of my time.
Current status: rekt. I've never really super hated them like everyone else did. I figured that they did some bad stuff, but I never really gave a shit about it. Although I did watch the occasional television doumentary from time to time. That was when I was fairly young. When I was about 15 years old, I started developing my first politial ideology. After that happened, I was so busy reading up on and bouncing around different political and economial ideoligies that I never gave the naughtsees a thought. Then I eventually got here.
As for the whole bak stab thing, it was pretty much unwarrented innocence. As for the war costs, they didn't really touch on it much, but most of the students seem to think that they souldn't have been considered solely responsible. Of course they gave classic granola-crowd reasons, but nontheless. One thing I noticed was that they only really talked about Germany's role in the Central powers. They talked a little about the Ottoman empire, but it was mostly just Germany.
Kek, that image. I've caught a hint of what's to come already, since we're at the end of the world war one unit and they're already talking about how muh evil naughtsees come to power. Good news is I haven't heard a six gorillion bomb drop yet.
