Usually October is my favorite month but this one was just dreadful. I'm looking forward to 2010 - can't get here fast enough to suit me! My folks gave me 4 1/2 acres and I have bought a brand new 16'x76' mobile home and a 24'x30' pole barn kit. We are ditching this crappy neighborhood and falling down house and heading to the country (really just 6 miles up the road - LOL). Looking forward to a fresh start!
Hey Doll! How are you? It HAS been a LONG time since we've visited! I hope you are doing okay. How's the family? October was a bad month here at home. Bambi (19 yr old goggie) died and then 4 days later Dennis (13-14 yr old goggie) died. Had a nasty dog kill 2 of my cats, Crybaby and Lumpy I AND my human bff died under "mysterious circumstances". Wanda was just 58 yrs old and her daughter found her dead in her bathtub, fully dressed, and with the side of her face bashed black & blue. Could have been an accident BUT the last people who saw her alive were her Registered Sex Offenders Treatment group - and her office is at her home.

Anyway, I hear ur puter is Borked! Mine was down for 3 months last year and I was crazy lonesome for it! I lost a lot of my files but I still had some of the important stuff. More than anything I missed the Interwebs. Mark let me use his laptop until he saw where all I was going, then he freaked out on me. He said ICHC and Rotten.com gave puters viruses! I seriously doubt that! And anyway - he GAMBLES online - VIRUSES?????? Don't u think gambling websites have those too???

Hi Precious! How was ur day? Mumsy has been having a hard time catching up to you! Maybe we shud limit after-school activities so ul b home more! Jinxy and I used to participate in "Pets on Wheels". We would go to nursing homes and visit with the patients, especially the patients that had late stage Alzheimer's. It was fun and very rewarding volunteer work and she was an exceptional dog for that task. Not bad for the "bad dog" she was called back then, huh? Hope your day is a good one :)
Good morning Mumsy :) Bambi sounds like a smart dog...she knew how to get the treats from everyone. I'm sorry to hear your ex threatened to kill her. OMG who could even make a threat like that? You were smart to keep her somewhere safe, and I am glad everything worked out and you got your beautiful Bambi back.
I'm glad u didn't listen to the people at the shelter. They don't always know everything! Sometimes we are SENT for the dog no -one else likes! And, more often, that dog was waiting for u, that's why he didn't like anyone else....
She gained 20 pounds during that 3 years because the volunteers learned that she thought it was their job to pet her 24/7. Finally they figurred out that if you tell her, "I'll give u a treat if u go away" that she reeely WILL go away! So she spent all day going from one volunteer to the other, saying, "give me a treat and I'll go to someone else to be petted"!!! Smart - but fat - dog!
She also LOVES to ride in the car and go visit friends. I take her to the local grooming place to visit cause she knows everyone there (pals of mommmy's) and she likes to go to the no-kill shelter bcause I had to leave her there for 3 LONG YRS while my last husband and I duked it out. He threatened to kill her if he ever came by the house and I wasn't home - so I took her over there to hide out (cause they're all friends of mine too!).
hI sWEETIE! sTARTING WITH LAST NIGHT'S MESSAGES... DAMN CAPS KEY! Bambi's a tramp! She's 18 and has a 3 yr (going on 4 he says!) old boyfriend! She's a lively old woman and the only way u can tell she's that old is that her face is WHITE and she has tumors all over her and she limps badly. BUT - she always has a big silly SMILE on her face and she thinks EVERYONE wants to pet her.
re: your Bambi... she'll let you know when she's ready. Jinxy never acted sick until the very end. In fact, we didn't discover her lymphoma until it was already stage 4...that's how happy and healthy she acted. You keep loving your Bambi and enjoying her, she'll let you know when its time to say good bye :)
