Hooray on your latest front page! What's this one, number 53, or are you up to 54 now?

Thank you for your kind words. I am looking forwrd to hearing what you have to say about the blog after you've had a chance to read it in more detail. My biggest regret right now is that I've posted a few (what I thought were) really good comments to articles on the NPR web site, the Huffington Post, and a few other places, but forgot to save myself a copy. Sometimes there is just no reconstructing or reproducing that one, perfectly worded, elegant sentence . . . oh, well. I'm trying to learn to be less of a Type A personality, so I guess I'd be well-advised to let it go. How many "Rs" in "fat chance"?

I have a small collection of old Onion Radio News audio from around 2002 and earlier [whatever happened to be on Audiogalaxy], and the "Clinton Deploys Vowels to Bosnia" is a classic. The great part is, if you happen to have a wave editor where you can play things backward... "Operation Vowel Storm began with the airdropping of 11,000 cases of E's over the cities of {something} and {something}." Run 'em backwards, and they're the cities of "chainsawcrackwhore" and "Jesuschristinachickenbasket." I LOL'd!!!

{*laugh!*} Yeah, I wondered whether you had seen it [and been inspired by it], or whether you hadn't seen it but would get a good chuckle out of it anyway. 'tis a good one, isn't it? Gotta love The Onion!

Left and right? ROTFLMBO!!!!! So your mind is just permanently creative, huh?!! I could make a 'feng shu' joke if I knew how to spell it correctly. But I also don't want to give credit for your brilliance to some oriental teaching. ~Speaking of, we lived in Okinawa for a few years. Air Force brat here. I loved it. The orientals are wonderful with children, have fabulous silk and brocade materials in colors that knock your eyeballs out. They are extremely polite and courteous, (a bit like our Southern culture) We had making their rounds routinely, the flower lady, the seamstress, and the knife sharperner stop by the house. I was in awe of the old knife sharperner. His knarly old hands so tendery working the blades over that whetstone while he squatted by our drizzling outside faucet was a wonder to me. Children catch so much by simply watching....
