Hi! I still don't have the internet at my house. Since I'm out of a job I keep coming to the library a couple times a week. I'll be back to stay once I get over the financial hump. In the meantime I can lurk from my phone. for some reason, I can't enter comments form it, though. I'll be in touch once in awhile! Manfred is fine, as are Ayla & Michio. Callisto's ashes are still on the entertainment center with his pic, a figurine of an angel holding a cat, and a figurine of Bastet. Hugs to you , too. I miss this place!

Let me clarify - season to date we've had 62.4 inches. On the ground now we have about 1 1/2 feet depending where you are around Syracuse. I happen to be NW in the lake effect belt & have about 2 feet. On Mon we had over 13 inches fall. I'll be happy to ship the stuff off my front walk to anybody in need of snow! However - what seems to be a white Christmas may not be. Wed. things will warm up & we'll have a "wintery mix" event - which means anything & everything. Then it will freeze & make an utter mess. Same for Thurs. Luckily, I'm heading out Wed AM. I hope we don't end up breaking the snow record this year of somewhere around 192 inches! I gotta try to get to sleep now. Enjoy the holidays!!
You have five feet ov sno??? Where ar yoo?? We've got about 8 inches - with another 6 - 10 supposed to fall tonight! It's been bitterly cold. But so pretty!! And I wish you a very Merry Christmas, too!! and a most happy New Year. I hope your 2009 will be much better than you2008 - though ;) I'm still waiting for the "rest of the story!"
hai! I think it iz a long time since the last one! I thought the next one should be VI - but this is the last one I found. But THAT's just the start of 2008!!! It seems to me I collected these in one spot on a Word page. But I'm not sure where I put it!! Looking forward to hearing more!!! By ManfredMom on Oct 30, 2008 at 6:13 PM The Trials of ManfredMom Part IV(?) Now we start with 2008. Things started out slow - I fell 5 times, 3 in the snow & twice at work. After the first fall at work, I ended up with back spasms. 10 days later, I fell again, ending up with HORRIBLE spasms in my thigh. I went to the doc & told him my symptoms, mentioning that I had some numbness in my left arm. While he was torturing me by bending my leg til I cried. . . ,
The next one will be VI. I"ve copied them all out and put them in a file of there own, so the sequence is easy to follow. You have had a run of awful luck. Another dear friend has a story that could come close to equaling this - but oh MY!!! And you are only up to January 08! And fascinating! One always wonders how people survive all of blows when they come so close together. You have had

After the first fall at work, I ended up with back spasms. 10 days later, I fell again, ending up with HORRIBLE spasms in my thigh. I went to the doc & told him my symptoms, mentioning that I had some numbness in my left arm. While he was torturing me by bending my leg til I cried, he said my arm was secondary & we were gonna find the cause of the spasm. Had a run at the MRI machine, but nothing showed. On a follow up visit, my leg was fine, but my arm was getting worse. OK, time for the specialist. Off I went to another doc. That was a fun visit that I'll describe next time. Suffice it to say that this doc wanted to due an MRI of my head to make sure nothing was there. I assured her there wasn't & offered to call several of my friends to verify that! :)
Oh, I know! It did seem like I would have them forever. My Dad died in 94, when he was 91, and my Mom just died in September, at 92. I know I was lucky beyond all measure to have them for so long - but it's hard! If my Dad had lived just three months longer, they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Looking forward to Part V!
"Unfortunately" because I lost my Dad the week before T-day & my Mom moved 500 miles away a month later a few days before X-mas. The timing, according to my brother-in-law, "could have been better"; according to my brother & I "SUCKED!!!" Our holidays were a bit blue last year. ;) I'm beginning to think it's harder to lose a parent as they continue to live longer because you tend to think they'll live forever just because they made it to 90+. Whatever - it's tough to lose them either way.
"unfortunately they had an immediate opening??" This continues to be fascinating! And sad. But hooray, at least, for teh one day with your Dad. *sniff* Now I am choking all up thinking about my Dad! He died on 14 May 2004. Parents. Nothing like them. And so hard to lose them bit by bit!! But pleese continue. Am eagerly awaiting Part IV!
The Trials of ManfredMom part III. It's been awhile since I wrote an installment for you!! Dad came back to the assisted living apt for 5 weeks. We had him put on antidepressants because he was so dejected. We had one day of Dad being normal, for which I was very grateful because the next day he started on his final downturn. He passed away last Nov on the Thurs before T-day. My sister suggested to my Mom that she come to live in Dayton. It was a great idea and my sister found a place for her very close by. Unfortunately they had an immediate opening and Mom moved on Dec 21st. Ok; that's it for 2007. Except that I went to 7 funerals & should have gone to 3 more. I was glad when New Years came!!
