Congratsez on ur Shatnerday FP, Old Dog! Gotta say, there were plenty of times when Ol' Jim reminded me quite a bit of Mr. Coyote, lol.

I have some info on what's been going on at SPTL lately. You'll find it here:

Thanks, I havta admit, you were right. Lawyerville was a winner again. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of that pic. Glad I stopped and turned around and took the shot that day. Probably the only time a camera has been through the little burg. ;-)

By Emerald63 on Feb 22, 2013 at 12:46 PM

And there it is, on the Demotivational FP! I *knew* your Lawyersville LOL was gold! Congrats, Old Dog!!

By OldDogZeroOne on Feb 19, 2013 at 4:10 AM

Doesn't matter, I posted new ones after I sent the message. Glad you liked something there at least. ;-)

By Emerald63 on Feb 18, 2013 at 9:50 PM

Sorry, I didn't see this till 24 hours after you sent it. Which one did you mean? I see you've done several about the Russian meteor. They all look pretty good. I really liked the one with the "Lawyersville" sign!

Valentine Wishes for You:

Worst part of it is, most of the young kids won't "get" the joke. 'Fraid I'm dating myself again. (and I won't even get dinner and a movie, let alone laid) I apologize for that extremely old joke, it was bad when it was new.

By Emerald63 on Jan 22, 2013 at 10:37 PM

Hey OldDog... love the "slides" LOL. Totally reminded me of my grandfather. I loved him to pieces, but sometimes he'd have us all sit there for a couple hours or more looking at basically the same picture... of the Meteor Crater in Arizona. Sure, it's cool, but there are only so many pics you can take of it, like... two. One looking across the enormous diameter and one looking down into it. OK, done! :D

Cool post Em. Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays!

Thanks, My guess is the 2 people who voted it down didn't know what whack-a-mole was. ;-). Probably Amish.

By Emerald63 on Dec 17, 2012 at 12:29 PM

Congrats on your Sci-Fi FP, OldDog! I saw it when you made it and thought something to the effect, "Oh Yeah!" Guess I knew a good thing when I saw it, lol.

By Emerald63 on Dec 4, 2012 at 4:55 PM

I know what you mean. I get the feeling that sometimes, if new submissions are too few, the staff will raid people's My Stuff files, or maybe use their own Favorites archives to plump up the FP. The same "Whoa! I made that *ages* ago" thing has happened to me, too. And thanks for the votes!

By OldDogZeroOne on Dec 3, 2012 at 10:32 PM

Thanks. It's amazing how long some of the LOLs lay dorment then all of a sudden, poof! they're on the home page. Some of which I never even saw go up for voting. I've favorited and thumb-uped lots of yours too!

By Emerald63 on Dec 3, 2012 at 5:01 PM

OMG! ROFLMAO!! I LOVE your sci-fi FP!!! Congratulations!!!!

By OldDogZeroOne on Nov 19, 2012 at 6:48 PM

Thx E63! I was kinda going for a play on the "high five" which I could never imagine Spock doing. I forgot that McCoy never could do the Vulcan hand greeting, good catch!

By Emerald63 on Nov 19, 2012 at 3:30 PM

Congrats on your Sci-Fi FP! I always found it so strange that McCoy couldn't get the hang of the finger position. I mean, it's not that hard, even if you have to teach your hand to cooperate. But it did make for some lighthearted humor, didn't it? :)

In the right context some of the misspellings are OK by me, though they've intensified to such a degree in the last year or so that I can hardly make out what they're supposed to say some times. The point of LOLs is to, well, LOL, not sit there deciphering. If you look back at the first couple years of the LOLcats site you can see there were fewer of them and only certain examples of grammatical errors. Apparently some people have mistaken baby talk for LOLspeak. // Yeah, I don't do Facebook either and I seriously resent the number of other sites (including this one) that have thrown in whole hog with them. Offering a link? Sure. Gearing every feature on you own site to how they do things there? That's more about ass-kissing Zuckerberg and only providing decent service to *some* of your own clients but not *all* of them. "Back of the bus" indeed. 'Kay... my soapbox is gonna go sit on the shelf next to yours, lol.

By OldDogZeroOne on Sep 30, 2012 at 8:41 PM

That's what I meant, about the mods not getting it. If they don't, it doesn't get voted on. But OMG, some of the crap they do put up to get voted on, unbelievable! (If it were up to me, the misspelled memes would die without ever seeing the light of day.) There are honest typos, and then there are people with no concept of English as a language! Or of proofreading. Maybe there is such a huge volume of submissions that they t can only process a small portion. They ought to at least send out a form message if your lol has been looked at (and found wanting). I suppose that they might get input from the facebook count but that would mean none of mine would ever show up since I don't do facebook. OK, I'll get off the soapbox now.

By Emerald63 on Sep 30, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Thanks! // I see your point about the mods, now. I'd thought you meant the references in your profile, but I guess you meant in the LOLs. So, if they don't get it, it doesn't end up on the voting page, is that what you meant? // Wish I could see their excuse for my Totally Looks Like entry. It's been in the system almost 48 hours and it's not up for a vote. I'll wait a couple more days and if it's still not there I'll message Tofu, one of my cheezfrends who's on-staff. It can be handy having cheezfrends on the inside. Again, thanks for "seeing it." I'm always seeing similarities that sometimes strike a chord with lots of folks, but more often no one else sees it. It's always cool when I'm not alone. And it IS weird, isn't it - two actors playing two different Trek roles decades apart but still looking like twins. Cue the Twilight Zone theme music!

YOU ARE RIGHT! Carl Urban DOES resemble Gary Lockwood! ( It's Lt. Cmdr. Gary Mitchell who used his godlike powers to cross timelines and return as Dr. Leonard McCoy!) Shades of Quantum Leap!
