*it sniffs at the food* Me: In all my time in this forest I've not encountered a creature like this before. *the creature opens it's mouth, a few rows of sharp teeth glisten for an instant before it clamps down on the meat and shakes it about as it consumes it. I grimace in disgust and a little bit of fear* Me: But apparently it's definitely a carnivore..
(Haha. Well if you can settle on one, let me know) Hm? Oh, r-right, my cutie mark. It's a bit weird, I know, but it's a question mark. Because I'm so curious, always searching. I guess half earth, half bat ponies must get weird-shaped cutie marks, eh?
Step 1: go to Photoshop and edit your creature with the existing scraps of another creatures. Step 2: leave only the outline of the final effect and give it 95-99% transparency. Step 3: print it, take a well-sharpen pencil and redraw it into a clean beast you want to have. Step 4: scan it into your computer, and again - go to Photoshop and leave only the outline of what you just created. Step 5: add colours, lighting, shadows, effects. Step 6: be proud of yourself - you're realising your life ambitions despite the fact of having or not having a mythical "talent", just using your brain to trick it instead. That's the humans' way - using your brain to accomplish what you want.
(I created those ponies using bases, so it's way easier than proper drawing. And if you want, I could do the same for one of your characters) Ah, hello! [smiles widely] Yes, I think I'm starting to develop a reputation. I've got jewelry, clothing, statuary, tools, mechanical whatsits, bits and bobs. An earth pony like me can't tell a magical artifact from a rusty relic, but I'm told I have a knack for finding such things without knowing it. Oh, and the back half of the shop is dedicated to books should you be so inclined.
Did ya know one of the most magnificent and well-known comics authors of all time, Frank Miller himself (Batman spin-offs, 300 , Sin City, Spirit) not only CAN'T draw, but also openly declares, that everything he does is taking plenty of photos of models and then redrawing them into his awesome pictures? The same goes with vechicles, backgrounds etc. I'm willing to try that method.
I finished up the OC I was working on. I needed to get him out of my system before I made any more OCs because he was driving me nuts being half-done. http://fav.me/d7v7sb5 He ended up being a pretty serious character though, so if you were interested in more light-hearted roleplay I'll have to use my next idea.
(The crawler has bee attacking pony's and terrorizing them in general, along with making threats to take over canterlot, there are worries that canterlot's army is not enough to defended it's walls. you could hop i as a worries civilian wanting to help)
