My empathies go out to u. Sorry for ur loss. I still have my daddy - he's 80! - and I can't even begin to imagine him leaving anytime soon. Sorry for all ur trubbles. One of my old, old friends used to have a jar (a small peanut butter jar!) full of her kidney stones!!! I was with her a couple of times when she was sick with one and it was awefull. Ohai miz lady. I am still here, just not so often right now. My daddycat died this month and I had to go to Colorado for his passing stuff. It was hard, still is, that's how it is when you loose a parent, don't worry though. *shrugs* I'll be fine soon, no worries. Den! In a cosmic (oar comic, your choice) twist of fate, aye gets a kidney stone as soon as I gets back home here to VA!! Sonofabiscut! When it rains it pours sometimes, eh? Hey Ratty Ma! How r u these days? Haven't talked to u n a while (sorry). It's so hard to stay in touch with EVERYone! Anyway... I have a friend who has a website. She makes Patron Saint stuff and she - and the stuff she makes - are so COOL and original! I was at her site today (doing a little Christmas shopping) and saw that she has added a new saint. WhenI'm looking thru the vote pages, if I see somthing I think is funny I look to see who made the caption - or the picture, then click on their name. Tanky fur gibin me an alternate view on Gerbils. Aye had wun wehn I was a kidlet. Naymed him "tibbles" cuz I thought teh goggie food wuz "Tibbles n' Bits" and thought it was cyoot. Felt dumb layter butt oh well, a semi-unik nayme nonetheless. Enywai, Tibbles wuz a biter, nassy little monster he wuz and damn if he didn' keep me up awl nite on dat stoopy sqweeky wheel. Aye wuz knot too torn up wehn he died, hate to say dat but dats hao aye felt at teh tyme. Aye rilly lyked mie hammi(s). Got wun frum pet store, got five moar free, you know? Dey wuz nyce an cyute fuzzy but dumb, so dumb. Poor lil blighters.
They were better than TV! and I think the gerbils liked playing and wrestling in front of the cats and showing off - totally safe as houses. They've been adopted since then. I'll put a pix of them on my pix page :) T
Silly u! I likes to see messages from u - u r funny! Our last little gerbils (pronounced GRR-ils) were fosters. We kept them in the living room next to the guinea pig until we got a new foster dog - who thought they were nommies! So I moved them into the catroom - but in a big sick-kitty cage. It was not spossed to be permanent, but the kitties got attached to them and the gerbils enjoyed teasing them. If you look at my pics u will see TreyBoy2 looking in on them. The cage is up on legs with a wire front. They were still in their wire cage (for safety) inside the big cage and we had a chair in front of the cage so the cats could watch them play.

My dream, it is fulfilled. *sniff* :-D And yes, hammies (cute, yes) and gerbils don't make good pets. They do make good room decorations though. Just clean their cage once a week and they're happy in their little worlds. Dumb little buggers too. Rats? Rats are awesome. Rats are WIN!

My ratties were gr8 too. Funny, my gerbils are lovers but may hamsters were bloodthirsty! I don't know why ANYONE thinks hamsters make good pets for little kids? There's someone else on here that is a rat lover, an she's my frien too.... let me see if I cans find her and introduce ya'll. You 2 would get along like peas in a pod, or beers in a 6-pack, or - well, u get the picture!
Dese rats iz mie furst ratties, aye hab de hammies an a gerbul wehn aye wuz a kid. Dey wuz ok butt teh gerbul wuz a byter, nasty critter. Dese ratties iz wunnerful! Dey iz sew smart an playful an fun! Aye lubs dem berry much an will prolly hab ratties fur de res ob my lyfe. Dey hab berry short lyfes do, dat cud get hard. :-( Wehn we getz a chanse we WILL be gettin teh kittehs again sew dey better lyke ratties! :-)
Hi RattyMa! Thanks for being my friend! I love all animals to- even rats! I used to have 2 of them named Abraham and Zeke (A thru Z). They are smart and affectionate. They got along with my dogs and cats and fish. Their only enemy was the vivisecting lovebird and she hated everyone!
