So that's what it is. I must have seen it in my wildflower book. I thought it must have been a form of magnolia for some reason. It reminds me of the miniature magnolia trees.

It's a rare double flowered form of a wildflower commonly called "Bloodroot" because the roots are very red. I've nurtured a patch which comes up in early spring.

What kind of flower is that?

I'm glad your community is such a safe place. It was so bad on the east coast and the midwest this past year.

The storms mostly go around our little community. We watch them all the time come right at us then split and go north or south. We call it our "bubble." Burbank is clear up north by Chicago. That's a good four hours drive from me. We're in the middle of the 'hump' on the left side of the state. Middle of nowhere, LOL.

I hope those severe storms didn't hit your town hard. It has been a bad year for the whole country. Another thing about Illinois that intrests me is that there is a city there named Burbank.

Hai new friend! That's cool, I was born in Michigan but have lived here over 30 years so this feels like home as well.

Thanks for the friend request. I like hearing from people in the midwest to learn about life out there. Illinois intrests me because my father was born there.
