Not to worry! When I adopted my 2 kitties (at about 10 weeks of age), I was told they were the last 2 sisters in a litter of 8--didn't check, because I figured the Humane Society folks knew their stuff--about 3 weeks later, one started waving its butt in my face, and I realized I had a brother and sister--and Linus and Lucy were the first names I thought of for them--though if you were to meet them, by personality, you'd think my Linus was Lucy Van Pelt and my Lucy was Linus Van Pelt! That's Lucy in the front of my profile pic, btw.
Duh! Sorry about that, I only saw the part about Lucy & Linus and not about the kitties, so I had it in the wrong context. :)
Point well taken, Bernie--but I'm talking about my kitties, not about the Van Pelt siblings!
Lucy is older than Linus. She always refers to him as her baby brother.
There may be a listing in the phone book (they are still good for some things) under governmental offices that will show where you can file a complaint--and if that doesn't work, write a letter to the editor of the largest paper in the area and send a copy to the Humane Society. Good luck, and let me know what happens. I'm just an ol' softy--I care!
I'm very tempted to file a complaint with them over the shape this little girl was in. It's the Orange County Humane Society though, so I'm not sure who to contact. If I complain to them they can just ignore it. I'd like to go up the ladder a bit so they can't just bury it.
That is heartbreaking! Bless you for caring for her--please let me know what happens if you file a protest with the city or whatever organization is "responsible" for that shelter.
