Glad I could help with the collectibles! I have spares and I'm generally happy to give them to those who need them. Can't really see the use in hoarding them - they aren't worth anything and it's more fun to meet people by exchanging them.
I think you hit the nail on the head. It's definitely a different language. Lakota is pure dog, but manages to communicate with us humans pretty well most days. He just doesn't understand Pug. He does make some pretty funny conclusions at times. When we lived in New York City, he met a lovely female greyhound, and my boy fell in love. As soon as he would see her, he would "pose" himself just so and try to have a conversation. Being a greyhound, she just ignored him. But somehow he got it into his head that all greyhounds are girls. And he was quite surprised when we moved to PA and one of our neighbors had two BOY greyhounds. Lakota was thrilled to meet them until he realized their gender. I've never seen him look so dejected as when he made that discovery!
Thanks for the collectible. I sent you one for your collection. I have to admit, I almost feel guilty about friending a pug enthusiast. I think pugs are adorable, but for some reason, my malamute does not like pugs and pomeranians. He's never had a bad interaction with either breed, but he is really quite obvious about his likes & dislikes when it comes to other dogs. It's really quite funny at times. Lakota (my goggie) is not agressive towards pugs and poms, but he starts "talking" and trying to go in the opposite direction when we encounter them on our walks.
