It is a true statement that the pets we love impact our lives forever. The pain over losing the first Kitty I ever loved almost fifty years ago is still part of who I am. The service you provide for those of us who still grieve is immeasurable and helps all of us to move on whilst still holding on to all of the precious memories we have. No thanks is adequate, but it's all we can say. Thank you. The Shadow
Well, it's raining and not too cold here in central Idaho, 53 degrees F outside and we've had about 1/2 inch of rain in the last 24 hours. When we built this house we had in-floor radiant heat built in and it stays very cozy. (I hate to be cold) I have been restoring my old 1952 Chevrolet Truck this winter and finally got it running. I have a pellet burning stove in the garage to keep it warm when I am working. I'll chat again soon.
Hi Shadow! Yes things are pretty good here, thanks. We just had central heating installed in the house - You wouldn't think you need it in the south of Spain, but trust me, when you live here year round, you feel the temperature drop in the winter! We're still trying to get to grips with the system - there are no gas lines here, so it has to run off of bottles, and if they completely run out, the system has to be reset! So, we're still learning, but it's great to actually be warm in the house!! Re-organizing, eh? Yes, I have some of that to "get around to" myself. I have lots of stuff that needs to go to our animal charity shop. I try to send out a few bits each month, but I really need to get around to a full "clear-out"!! It's nice to hear from you, and I hope that you and your loved ones are all well and keeping warm! xxx
That's very kind of you. It's a sad fact that I also offer "emergency" mid-week candles for anyone who asks for them. I don't really advertise the fact as is it is never a pleasant thing to do (of course) and I would never "press" a candle on anyone who had just experienced a loss, and I never "presume" to make them. Most people know what I do and they come to me when the time is right for them. This way, the Monday candles stay mostly as memorials for "past" friends - so there should be no need for bumping. xxx
Yaaay! Complete success! I got them all! What beautiful kittehs they both are! (I use present tense when describing BridgeBabies, because they stay in our hearts unchanged forever) I'm so glad my instructions made sense! I agree that the first two are the nicest and I will definitely use them. I'll decide whether to include the others as I put the candles together. Such a shame that you lost so many other good pics! I learnt my lesson and now save my "special" pics on to discs as back-up in case the worst happens! Okay, I have what I need now, but you can always contact me if you want to add something, or if you have any questions, or about anything at all! I'm always checking in, and I always reply. Until the next time we speak, take care my friend. *hugs* xxx
I'm glad to see you are here! I got your message in-between. Of course, separate ones is no trouble at all, my friend, and thank you for taking the time to look at my others - I do my best for each of them. Right, back to sending links. Firstly, you need to make the picture into a LOL so that cheezburger will give it an address. You don't need to add a title or any text, just hit the "build" button and create the LOL. Once you've done that, the top of your browser will show it's address (starts with "http" and will have your name in it along with a long number - just like the link I sent you). Again, put your cursor in front of that "h", click and hold the LEFT mouse button, and highlight all the way to the very end of that long number. This time, when you RIGHT click on the highlight and the menu box appears, click the option that says "Copy". Now come to my dashboard and click into my message box like you're about to type something. Then click that RIGHT mouse button again. In the menu box select "Paste". Your link should now appear in my message box and you can post it to me as usual! I don't know how well I've explained this, but, as you're here, and I'll be around for a while, you can try, and let me know if I need to explain anything better. If it all goes horribly wrong, just let me know, and you can show me your choice of pics another way. Good luck! xxx
Okay, links. If you know how to use a link that someone has sent you, then we are already part-way there. But, just in case you don't, I'll start with this. Here's a link: http://cheezburger.com/scoobysoo/lolz/View/5733345536 Put your mouse cursor right in front of the "h" at the start. Click and hold the LEFT mouse button, and "drag" your mouse along the text until you reach the "6" at the end and release the left button. It will now be "highlighted". Move your cursor over the highlight and click the RIGHT mouse button. A menu box should appear, and one of the options at the top should read something like "Go To Address". Left click that option, and your browser should take you to my candle for Demon. If you already know this stuff, I apologize - I just thought I'd cover the whole thing, especially as I will be sending you links to your candles when I post them, so that you don't miss them. Next message will be about sending links. xxx
Hi Shadow83! Thanks for your quick response! I had read about Tommy and Sherman in your profile info, too. It sounds like Tommy had a wonderful long life thanks to whatever fates brought him to you (once in a while they get it right!) Sherman's tale brought a tear to my eyes also. How horrible. For him, and for you to watch him go through that. I'm so very sorry. So young, too. My own Demon boy was lost to me about a month before he would've turned two. It has been nearly 3 years now, but I still think of him every day (and most days I cry a little) - he is my inspiration for everything that I do, including the Monday candles. My friend, firstly, I'm guessing that you would prefer separate candles for Tommy and Sherman, please let me know if I'm right. I'd like you to have a quick look at my other candles (in my "Favorites" tab you'll find the folder) that way you can see both the individual ones and the joint candles - this may help you to decide. Next, I'm going to send a separate message to you about sending links. I may not be very good at explaining it, but there is an easy way around it which I'll tell you after I have bored and confused you! xxx
My pictures are in my pics on my cheezburger. I don't know how to send links to them but if you'll tell me I'll do it. I have two friends who have crossed the bridge, the Black and White "Tommy Tinker" who was a tiny kitten who showed up on my front porch one morning (I lived way out in the country) and was my best friend for almost 18 years. I hope God blesses whoever dropped him off at my house. The Cinnamon Silver Ocicat, Sherman who is my avatar was mine about a year and a half until hypertrophic cardiomyopathy took him away. I still tear up when I think about it. He died horribly with his lungs filling up with fluid. The Vet couldn't do anything. I don't have many words, but it would be nice to see some. As to your first note, I have had a good life and some wonderful times. Still more to come, I hope. Hugs for your good work.
Aha! I see that NC has has recommended you to me for a candle? Apparently she thinks I'm a boy - but I'll let that slide past! I would be more than happy to make a candle (or many) for you. As she rightly pointed out, my next free spot is March 12th. I hope that will be okay. It gives you plenty of time to send me link(s) to pic(s) of your BridgeBaby. I can use up to 3 pics for any one candle, so you choose your fave(s). You can also have a think as to any special text you would like me to use - is there a song or poem that brings your friend to mind? If not, don't worry - just give me an idea of the sentiment you want to express, and I'll find something for you. Just tell me anything you would like me to include and don't be shy to ask if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you, my new friend. *hugs* xxx
