Too true! I especially don't want to read Pern novels in Finnish. Oh, awwwwfulll... Castles and keeps??? Knights??? The first Pernese stories were translated when Dragonlance and such were a hype. And they kept the wrongness doggedly...

Lack of good quality translations is why I prefer reading books in the original language- if I can.

Thanks. I sort of remembered, but not well enough to ad it there... :) 'Witches Abroad' had an extremely good translator, btw. At that time the girls who set foxes and other fur animals free (to die in the nature and/or run havoc with local wildlife - like nesting birds) were on every newspaper. So, the expression 'my foxy lady' (Nanny Ogg in foxmask - a bit info to the eds who haven't read it) was translated 'kettutyttöseni' kettu=fox tyttö=girl and the rest refers to 'little' and 'mine'. I always lol at that one. :)

I think we'll probably be stuck with the facebook thing, but my impression is that most of the other features we were used to will be back in some form, as soon as they've got it all done. Must be an enormous amount of info they have to shift. Notifications have been late for a while now, likely not at the top of the list of things to fix : (
