Snake, the full moon Valentine LOL is AWESOME! Around the time my husband and I started dating, I was also dating another guy. They knew about each other, but I didn't know if things would work out for me with either of them. I was driving down the highway one night when I saw a *beautiful* falling star, big, bright, and falling straight "down" (not at an angle) over the roadway. All I said to Spirit was, "You know what I want..." And within a few months Mark and I were engaged. Believe it or not, it's a true story. We've managed to find anniversary and Valentine cards featuring shooting stars almost every year since. I guess someone up there likes us. :D (And we're still friends with the other guy, some 18 years later.)
Yup, my version was total gibberish - nonsense! LOL! I can understand the idiom you referenced, although I'd be interested to hear how it originated. We have something similar here, "Don't take any wooden nickels." It's from way back, apparently when country folk (and other uneducated sorts) so seldom saw coins that they might be fooled by a wooden fake. Supposedly. Thanks for the tip on the site that translates idioms. I've had trouble figuring those out before. :D
I remember that! Mom would always dress me up - usually a little dirndle dess and ribbon head band with streamers and my black Mary Janes :) Dad would enjoye the beer at the party, I would dance with the other girls and Mom would chatter with the other Moms. What kind of costume?
Hiya Snake. Help me out, will ya? I tried using Bing translator for your LOL: http://cheezburger.com/5162504960. The result was "Let the tie no neighbors." I'm thinking that's, well, wrong. Right? LOL! So, what's it *really* say?
From Sylviag. Thanks! Send any others. Also we are collecting AD LOLs and will add them as a URL to this LOL. I kow u've had some. I have to start going into my AD profile; haven't been there since before Collecties. http://cheezburger.com/4129575168
Heyman had the original idea quite awhile ago and Pusskitty established and ran the profile. She left ICHC to spend all her free time arranging transport for rescue kittehs. So the profile hasn't been active for over a year but she gave me the password and beernbiccies volunteeered to help me..
