a friend got me into rage comics fall of last year, i saw every single page so when i ran out i tried the homepage of memebase. Saw MLB and had no idea what it was. When on it and saw ponies, at first i thought it was a section dedicated to making fun of ponies which seemed kind of weird but then to my, at the moment "horror" i found out that people genuinely liked the show. I was a hater for a little bit, all my comments received replies saying "did you even give the show a chance?" or "its a family show, im sure you've never even watched it." so i decided that i wouldn't be one of THOSE people, i told myself that i would watch the first season because worst case seneiro i lose 12 hours of my life that i would have spent on my computer anyways and best case scenario I find a show i love with a large online community so i watched it. The worst part was the music especially the opening theme but by the end of season one i loved the music
That's awesome, there's nothing like a good fireworks display. And its cool that your whole neighborhood enjoys it. I threw caution to the wind a few years ago, and realized why my home town has those restrictions. My Dad and I were firing off some illegal fireworks; the ground was too hard so we were sticking them in a half filled vase. Right as one of the big ones started it's takeoff, the wind blew the vase over turning our rockets into mortars. They arched across the local park and landed in my neighbors flat bed, we thought they were duds for about 15 seconds until it exploded showering the truck and our neighbors who were watching from there front porch with sparks , luckily the rocket wasn't big enough to do any real damage, but it scared me and my dad almost as much as it did our poor neighbors. MORAL OF THE STORY: Don't Jerri rig your launch platform (the best part is that I was known as the local rocketeer, I was out in that park with my telescope and model rockets for over 10 years without incident) now I'm the guy who's dad nearly blew up the neighbors truck... still, it made for some fun memories, be it some illegal ones
hehe, well my story was this one: a friend of mine wrote while a normal skype conversation "I am watching My Little Pony right now" me: "not seriously... do you?" "yeah seriously, i'm watching it", then he sent me the "Yay" szene with fluttershy, i thought it was funny so i gave it a chance, watched more and more episodes and that's how i became a brony :D This friend of mine watched it because another friend of mine, who's still a brony watched it and told him about it. But aftwer a while, he sadly became bored because of it and didn't watch it anymore. And i stayed a brony and now have 5 other friends IRL who watch it ^^ How about yours?
That's awesome! Unfortunately most fireworks are illegal in Ohio, but I do have secret stash in the attic. It would be regrettable if a few "went missing" around midnight. *wink* I actually just finished helping my family clean up the house in preparation for our annual party. We have an abnormally deep skylight that we fill with balloons and confetti, and tape off with a sheet, in our living room. At midnight we yank down the sheet, and presto. Instant ticker tape parade. My new years resolution is to get at least one IRL broof by the end of the year... that and graduate.
dont thank me, the meme was inside of you the whole time. I favorited it btw. and as for the fire works this is as extreme as im able to get https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTB9UDR7rVc7phdVvCW_Jwe2b6To2S83CAdbQWvVuKJpHBZM8KF whoo...
unfortunately yes, here in the cold snowy mountains we cant have fire works, but in the dry flat dead grass fields of Wyoming you can. it's bullshit, to hell with logic! light off a really big one, for me.
I know we throw lol's all around the internet, but I really did laugh out loud, when I read this. I was the same way. All the history had to go, and I still won't use the MLP page or the Hub unless I'm using incognito mode (force of habit). When I first became a brony, one of my roommates borrowed my computer and stumbled on pictures of Derpy, I came up with the cover story that I was trolling my brother's facebook account with ponies, So I flooded his account with pictures of Derpy and the Cutie Mark Crusaders to protect my mancard. Then I pinned the blame on my little sister. I'm not as open with my bronydom as you though. It's not that I'm a closet brony, I'm more of the lone stallion brony, I have never met a brony in real life, aside from one begrudge classmate who is a "former" brony. I don't mind people knowing I wish there were more like me. Unless there family. They would probably disown me if they found out, but I spend 9 months out of the year away from home so that's not a problem. And besides I'm still a relatively new brony so I'm still searching for bronies among the masses. I can't even walk past a Hot Topic without trying to catch someone in the MLP section.
There's no such thing as a lame story... It's all in the presentation and the audience... (sorry I am a bit of an amateur writer) My story is actually quite similar. I was derping around on the memebase, and the I kept seeing these strange characters popping up under my memebase comments, I later found out that they were Rainbowdash and Derpy. I was curious so I checked out the MLB site. For a short time I was actually a brony troll. I didn't know how to react to the fanbase (I would like to add that I was not a hater, I just reverted to my smart ass state). Anyway the more time I spent on MLB, the more interested I got, Until I finally watched an episode. I watched about 5 min got to the theme song and slammed my laptop closed, praying to the man-card gods to forgive my sin. Being a troll I HAD to announce that I had seen the show and was unimpressed, until bronies started asking me how much of it I actually watched. A few days passed, and I stumbled on a link sent to me by a brony for the episode"dragonshy," I mustered up the courage and gave it another shot. ---I thought Fluttershy was adorable, (and I think I experienced my first DAAW when they did there Oceans 11 character intros and she came out in hockey-pads) Anyway I got to the scene where Fluttershy stood up to the dragon. My opinion of the show became irreversibly changed (one thing you must understand about me is that I am fiercely protective of those I care about, I was raised never to start a fight, but also never to back down when protecting someone or standing up for what's right) Needless to say I immediately fell in love with Fluttershy, then Rainbowdash shortly after. Then I started to like Pinkie, and Applejack, and Lyra, and... well... You can see were this is going.
I hear ya. I'm from Ohio, but I live in Washington state. As far as I know I'm the only brony in my school, though that's not saying much, it's a pretty small campus. Then there's Ohio, I haven't even met a person who knows what a brony is. I've had to explain it too everyone I've ever talked about the bronies with. At least we still have our interntes lol
