More good news! Yay! The inspections and septic pumping should be easy enough and agreeing to a later closing date will be a big help to you guys. K-mac did get to go home finally. I didn't make that very clear - sorry. She really wanted to go home but was so worried something might happen to her dad and if it did, she would never forgive herself. I'm hoping that things will settle down for her after she's been home a few days and her life can get back to a relatively normal state. I'll be sure to pass along your message. I know she'll appreciate it.
Thanks - I thought it needed saying - again! Alisaorrdaisy made exactly your point about the so-called 'brainstormed' 'new' possible categories - why don't they just admit they were wrong to axe the old ones and re-instate them? Good that you are going to have dsl, but pity about having to rough it! Still, an adventure, eh? Glad u got your priorities right - build cat run first, THEN worry about the furniture... Good luck with it all - check in when you can. xoxoxox. David
Hm, DC...visited a couple of the Smithsonian museums, Air & Space and Liberry of Congress. Speaking of Congress, I walked in to the visitors gallery but the chamber was empty; found out they'd checked out early for the day. A group of people were sitting expectantly 'cause they didn't get the word. "No no, they're on lunch break." Oh, OK. The metro works well. Nice murals. Don't recall doing much else; didn't have time. re moi, _major_ improvement lately. Addition by subtraction is all I'll say here.
This was like one of those horror movies where each time you thought the guy was dead he came back to life to terrorize one more time. I think you finally got him this time though. Congrats!!! Now you have the 30 day dash in front of you. For someone with your organizational skills and no need for sleep this ought to be a cakewalk. You've certainly had to stay at it and roll with some punches along the way. You've weathered it all so far and appear no more demented than you were at the outset. Go get 'em girl!
Oh, I have no doubt all of your friends understand how busy you are and why you're not here so much. Understand AND miss you! Chuck is slowly getting better. "Slowly" is to be expected. His main problem is that he is having a really bad time trying to sleep, poor thing. So - stupid me! I finally got on the blog, looked under 'comments' and found yours (excellent!) and a few other good ones. I made one myself! Went off on a rant but then went back and cut it down before posting it. We've been hotter than Hades around here but a front will be coming through with (hopefully) rain and the promise of cooler temps. Can't wait! They finally got K-mac's mom checked into the hospital and she got to go home, but her mom seems to have flipped out (keeps telling them she's radioactive and to stay away from her), her husband is acting like a real bastid towards her (even worse than usual) and her garden is a total mess. It just breaks my heart.
Thank u for the good wishes. It's a perfect day to be starting back--rainy, hot, and super humid--may as well be at work. lol In case I don't get a chance to say this later, have a good trip and may all the moving prep go smoothly! I'll miss you. Oh, and I keep forgetting--congrats on your FP the other day!!
It's a wonder any real estate deals get done. It's a very daunting process. I'm certain the beauty of your home will weigh heavily in the buyers mind as they assess what action they might want after the inspection. I quite agree that replacing a still functioning water heater is silly. My refrigerator is a few years past its stated life and it works fine. The home changing hands doesn't make it work any less efficiently. Can you get by with just one hauler for your tools? It takes serious implements to accomplish everything you did to your current home and I know you're chomping at the bit to put your own touches on the new place. It will be interesting to see how we all do on our "practice trip". I'm not a fan of sleeping away from home but for a trip to Yellowstone and Glacier it's worth putting up with.
