Thanks! Son came home Thus eve and we came home too and I've been trying to catch up here since then :). The kitttehs have been very happy to have us bck home full time. The first night they all lumped on the bed with us, Not quite as needy today although I have one by my side on the couch and one by my feet. Ihink they want to make sure I don't go anywhere :) How are you feeling - is the medication for your acid reflux working I hope so. Our physical body is very much affected by our metal state and stress definitely manifests itself in varius physical ways like headaches, stomach and intestinal problems Oh yes, animal companions have been proven to be such good therapy for elders especially if their family is distant or they have none. Many assised living and nursing homes here have resident cats and have therapy dogs come in to spend tims with the elders. Did you find anylikes you liked at a good price? Most of those blinky ones oftenhave jus one bulb that needs to be changed out and it looks diferent from the others Or they have a swith feature, Are you going to put some on the new trees - that would look cool. Oh how sweet of your parents :) Are you going to be your kitteh Christmas prezzies? Hope you both are having a nice weekend. We are having a very quiet jus us one after all the excitedment the past 2 weeks. We were invied to go out bowling onight but turned it down to just enoy being home. Sending you holly branhes with bright red berries. lub and hugz

By Jiskat on Nov 16, 2014 at 6:26 AM

Awww, she truly is a Sweety Pie!!! And it's so nice to see a picture of your MIL too!!! Now I can put a face with the name! :-D I think it's fantastic for older peeps to adopt an older animal! The oldies get a home, and the older peeps get company. Older people don't alway's get out that much any more. I had trouble with the umlaut too!! I just Googled the name, and then cut and pasted it ;-D Oeh! Thanks for the goodies again! You sent me the best stuffs!! I did notice some lights on sale!! I'm going to check it this week!! :-D I like the Multi colored lights, as you may have guessed ;-D I just hope they're not the kind that keep flikkering on and off all the time. That'll drive me nuts right in front of our window!! I've been feeling a bit off lately. Last week I've been gasping for air (very scary feeling, when you don't seem to get enough air). Thought it was because of a cold I've been having. Went to the doctor last Friday, and it seems I have some stomach problems. Heartburn I think you call it. You know acid. Got some medication, and it feels much better now. I was warned t take it easy because I might get an ulcer. It has been a stressfull year I suppose. But I didn't notice it (MIL's accident and taking care of her earlier this year, and Tini's sickness and passing) was getting to me this much. It's weird how easy a person can get sick like this. It really did suprise me. Hahaha funny how you refere to Sky as your Granddog!! My parents Always refere to my cats as their Grandcats too!! The last two years they sent a postcard to my cats on world Animal day (okt 4th) It's adressed to 'The Grandcats Overvelde' :-D André and I did the housecleaning and laundry together yesterday. And today is a very easy going, lounge around. being lazy Sunday. Are your Gkids still alive and heathy? None of them got missing just yet? You've been feeding them good foods, and on time? ;-D Hope you're having a great Sundog!! Through a few snowballs for me, will you? ;-D Lots of love :-)

By Sylviag on Nov 14, 2014 at 7:23 AM

That's my "Granddog", Sky, playing with her boyfriend. Doggies really enjoy the snow, cats - not so much - wise creatures :) Chris said you usually get snow Dec or Jan timeframe. The artic blast the US is experiencing is rather unusual for this time of year too. ROFL on giving the birds to the cat. No need to fave, but this is her latest, and hopefully last, cat. Was cool, an older kitty that realy needed a home. I know older people hesitte aout adopting animals, but the way I look at it, for an older dog or ct to find a forever home even for a few yers is better than being euthanied in a shelter. Heck, here they already have Christmas decorations on sale. I bet you;ll find tht a couple of weeks before christmas there will be ales because they don;t ant them in their inventory after Christmas. Cuddling up on the couch in my snuggies is my plan today also. I do rememer Gluhwein from Germany. Speaking of, how the heck do I put an umlaut over a letter when typing?? Sending you a hot rum toddy to sip on and a box of soft aloe drenched tissues. Hope your cold goes away quikcly.

By Jiskat on Nov 14, 2014 at 4:46 AM

Love the 'Snow Dance' by the way!! :-D

By Jiskat on Nov 14, 2014 at 4:42 AM

Hahahahaha!!! Your son will be glad to know alls well with the gkids :-D Carefull not to missplace one of them this week ;-D SNOW?!! I'm so glad we don't have any of that just yet!! It's hard to ride a bike in the snow, and it's slippery too!! Snow looks great, but I don't like traveling through it. MIL has a Kitty again? She didn't 'give' the birds to the cat, did she?! ;-D Just kidding! The dog they had passed about 10 months ago. And they are older people, so they did worry about getting another dog. But the owner of this dog passed, and she used to be with an older man. So this little dog was a perfect fit for this older couple. I know what you mean with 'obnoxious TV ads'!! I don't think we're going to put any lights in our tree's just yet. We planned on, but we need to buy new lights. And right now they are very expencive. Maybe we'll wait till januari when there on sale, and put them up next year :-D I love soup!! All kinds off!!! Thank you, I'll enjoy the chicken soup a lot!! :-D I don't have anything special to tell. I have a cold but thats 'normal' for this time of year ;-) Fleece plaids are on the couch again to cuddle up with watching tv ;-D Sending you a bottle of Glühwein. It's the season for that warm wine again too! Lots of love XOXO

By Sylviag on Nov 13, 2014 at 1:20 PM

All going well, haven't lost a gkd yet and no one has gotten hurt LOL I coun that as a win. But it has been taking up a lot of our time as we need to go back home every day to take care of our kitties. Gkids hae a dog too, Sky and I took some pics of her andher dogggie friend playing in the snow today. Oh yeah, we got 5-6 inches of snow overniht and on and foo today. Son coming back next Thus. MIL gave the birds away finally and has another, older female indoor cat and that seems to be working well also. Oh how neat they have another doggie. They are such good company for elders. Did ther last dog pass? The Chritmas decorations (and obnoxious TV ds) are going up here too I wait until after ourthanksgiving the end of Nov before I decorate for Christamas and then devote an afternoon to it. I always love unpacking all my treasures, some from when I was very little, and letting them have some show time :) Leftover homemade chicken noodle soup for you today - perfect for a cold evening lub and hugz

By Jiskat on Nov 10, 2014 at 8:05 AM

Oeh!!! Thats going to taste fantastic!!! Thanks for diner :-D Taking care of the gkids is a bigger job then I thought at first. They do need to be watched over. Good luck with that! How is your MIL doing? Does she still have those birds? The people I help out on Monday's have a little dog again!! Woohoo!! It's so much more fun when I get there. It's a very friendly and happy cairn terrier. Always nice to be greeted by a little dog jumping up and down ;-D These are the last of the pansies... thats why there on sale I suppose. It's getting kindda cold here too. And it's dark early. But a lot of the festive decorations are already up in the shopping Streets. I love those! Give the cats a bellyrub from me :-D Have a happy Monday!! Lots of warm floofy hugz.

I can see why he would enjoy it after being on the road all week. Compared to when I was young, they do indeed have some wonderful frozen microwaveable foods Especially good for elders who don't like to cook anymore. MIL when she was still able to live on her own, that's about all she would eat as she could get single servings, microwave them and have no pots and pans to wash. Going good so far with gkids but it;s only been days LOL They are 17 1/2 and has his own car so he can definitely be on his own and is great withhelping out with the younger ones. Gdau is 14 and youngest gson is 11. So the latter two are the ones we need to make sure where they are and who with if not at home. During the school week they are home anyway at night Mae a nie sunday dinner tonight. Once tey are all off to school tomorrow, we'll go home for the day and take care of our kittehs and whatever we need o do. Son left osme money for groceries so will do some shopping for the week. My football team won today so ai haz a happy. Wow, that seems late for pansies. Too cold for them here now so I will treasure the ones you sent this winter :) They have such happy faces. Sending you a meal to heat tomorrow form our leftovers tonight - roast pork, scalloped potatoes, broccoli and cheese sauce, green salad with 2 coconut macaroons for desert :) lub and hugz

By Jiskat on Nov 9, 2014 at 11:27 AM

When André is home, he usualy cooks. He doesn't mind cooking, and as you know, I don't like to cook. I do prepaire meals for myself when I'm alone during the week. But it's usualy something easy to make. And sometimes a microwave diner. But the good kinds, with good ingredients. Not the fast food variations. Our grocery store's cell the 'fresh ingredient' kinds too. How are thing going with the gkids so far? There not that young any more? Can they be on their own for a bit? Do you plan on doing something special with them? Maybe playing some DG ;-D I was a bit late with the B-Day card! Totaly forgot to check the Cheez-calendar last few days. Had a nice relaxing Sundog. Hope you had a nice weekend too!! Sending you a basket of pansies. They're on sale everywhere over here right now. Guess it's their time of the year ;-D Lots of love and hugs.

By Sylviag on Nov 9, 2014 at 9:29 AM

How sweet of you to make a bdy card for Black_Friday :) Will make sure it gets there. Glad you and Alinda had some nice gurlfren time together. I do like to cook for a crowd. Eating a meal together is such a feel good thing. I think if I was by meself much cooking would go out the window also and it would be grab and go. WHen andre is home do you both make meals together or go out?

By Jiskat on Nov 8, 2014 at 12:00 PM

It's much more fun cooking for a bunch of people then it is for just a few! And I'm under the impression you're a pretty good cook! You sure know a lot about good food ;-D When I'm alone I don't 'really' cook all the time either. Thats a lot of dishes and pans to wash for just one person ;-D Today was a fun catching-up-on-things day. We just sat and talked, with food and drinks. Have a great time with the gkids!!! I'm sure you'll have a fun time taking care of them!!! Happy Weekend Hugz!!! XOXO

By Sylviag on Nov 7, 2014 at 10:23 PM

I know the funeral must have been difficult for you to attend but I am sure her family was comforted by your and Tini's other frends' presence. I am glad you are going to have a fun day with lLinda - just aht you need. We will be taking care of the gkids fro a couole of weeks as son and gal pal and another couole left for Costa /rica today for a vacay. A friend of son owns ahouse there so they just have to pay air fare and food and drinks. DUring the week we will spend the night at their house and come home afer they go to school. Means I actualy have to make some full dinners. Bryan and I get lazy sometimes and just grab something fast from the freezer we can microwave along with a salad.

By Jiskat on Nov 7, 2014 at 11:24 AM

Hahaha!!! Same thing over here! Every basket or piece of cloth/clothes is immediately taken by a cat! I bought a fruit bowl just like that basket, and now there are squashed banana's in it :-D I think it's a gift!! You make the most beautiful and touching poems!! Today was Tini's funeral. It was a simple but nice ceremonie. Afterwards we spend some time with the family. Tomorrow Alinda is comming over. We moved 'Alinday' from the usual first, to the second Saturday because she wasn't feeling well last week. And tomorrow evening we're going to visit her sister. She gave birth to a baby girl a few weeks ago. A maternity visit, right? You have anything planned for the weekend? Hope you're having a great Friday!!! Hugz and smoochies.

By Sylviag on Nov 5, 2014 at 7:18 AM

The words just come out sometimes when something touhes me and your friend's story over the past year certainly has. Yes, the Garden Gnome supervised the whole thing inbbetween naps LOL The basket you bought is beautiful I also have a fondnes for baskets but most of ours are for the kittehs. But you do know that all baskets are belong tu dem. We have 3 big ones, 2 by the wood fireplace and 1 in thebedroom. Plus 4 more floofies sattered around the house so they can nap wherever they please. As soon as you walkinto our house you know we have cats :) And thanks very much for your congrats.

By Jiskat on Nov 5, 2014 at 5:37 AM

Oh my...!!! You are such a wizard with words!!! That LOL is beautiful!!! Thank you dearest grilfriend!!! Wow, I'm very impressed with those lirics!!! You made this one youself again too?!! Thanks a million again sweety!!! Big fat hug from me.

By Sylviag on Nov 4, 2014 at 9:27 AM

Oh Jiskat, I am so sorry for Tini's passing but so very glad it was peaceful and in her sleep. You know it was coming, but still it is difficult. For you and her family. Will answer your msgs later. Thanks for the congrats. Bi lovin ghugz form me.

Woohoo!!! Lolcats HP congratz!!! Catastrophic warfare ;-D *cuddlies*

By Jiskat on Nov 3, 2014 at 9:37 AM

Oeps, forgot to thank you for the congratz! And I did buy a few colorful baskets and a fruit bowl of the same making last Sunday, at a big home deco store called Woondock. It's next to Intratuin. Love multi color, and the just caught my eye. Off course Troela had to claim it her own right a way ;-D

By Jiskat on Nov 3, 2014 at 9:13 AM

I looked up the money word, but still got it wrong?!! ;-D I'm so glad you had a great time at the birthday party!! Did sound like it was going to be a fun one to me!! :-D Just forget the housecleaning and laundry... go for the football ;-D Andre is usually pretty good at game's. Hahaha, I didn't even ask how he played! He got home really late, because he and some guy's (incl his brother) went out for dinner, and apparently a lot of drinks too ;-D We didn't really go shopping after all. Tini passed on this Sunday morning. Henk came over to tell us. And we waited for the rest of the family to come over to his house, so we could pay our respect and offer our condolences. They asked us to inform some other neighbors, and so we did. I did not want to stay at home, and watch her body be removed from the house. The hearse would have to pull up in frond of our house, because there's not enough room for it in frond of there's. I really did not want to see that either, so we went to those store's anyway for a very quick visit, and drove around for a while. It's ok like this! She passed in her sleep, and did not suffer much pain. Nor did she have to suffer for a long time. I'm a bit reluctant for the funeral. So many sad people.... Think it'll be next Thursday. Oeh!!! You're done with the yard and garden work?!!! Was the garden gnome any help at all?! ;-D XOXO

By Sylviag on Nov 2, 2014 at 5:43 PM

Happy belated anniversary to you and Andre! Wasn't on most of yesterday and last night so a day late with congrats. Did he have a good time playng darts and did they win? He must be a pretty good player for them to ask him to play in a competition. What did you find that you couldn't live wihout at IKEA? Anything special you wre looking for at Intruin - garden place right? Exactly! To us our kittehs are little furry people. I talk to the all the time just like a person :) I know you are anything but a "cold" person my very dear friend. We do bond so much with our animal companions that we live with, it can be much harder to lose them than a human we are more casual friends with. I looked up St Maarten and it is more of a harvest festival but also recognied in much of Europe. No, no, it;s called "frugal", not money grubbing LOL Yes, the yard project is all completed finally and all the piles of debris at the dump finally. Had a great time at the birthday bowling party last night. Today housecleaning, laundry and football.

By Jiskat on Nov 1, 2014 at 9:16 AM

Bowling? AND pizza and beer?!!! Thats a really good way to celebrate a birthday!!! I bet you'll have a great time!!! Today is our wedding anniversary (23 years). And André has gone to play darts with friends ;-) He was asked to come play in a competition, because they didn't have enough players. We don't really celebrate this day anyway. Tomorrow we're going to Intrtuin and IKEA! Woohoo!! ;-D I'm happy we got all the yard and garden work done! It's not nearly as much as you have to do of course!! ;-) I feel really bad Shasta has passed! To me loosing a pet hurts more then loosing people. Most of the time that is, not al the people. Pets become little people to me, that are part of your everyday life. I bond with them, and feel closer to them then I do to most people. So usualy I miss my lost pets (like Tina a few years back) more then most people I've lost. Hope this doesn't make me sound like a 'cold' person! Here we have something called St. Maarten. Kids go from door to door to collect candy too. But there's no spooky stuff, or tricks involved. They just sing a sertain song. If you don't want them to come to your door, you have to shut the cutains. If you have candy for them you leave them open. But this tradition didn't catch on eigther. They've only walked down our street a few time's since we live here. Maybe Dutch people are just to moneygrubbing to give out something for free ;-D There's a reason they call it Dutch treat, right?! ;-D Hope you'll be done with the yard work today!! And have a fantastic weekend dear!!! XOXO

By Sylviag on Nov 1, 2014 at 7:31 AM

Thanks for the congrats! And the sympathy for Shasta. Was a rough week but I am at peace now it was the very best for her. With the big yard clean-up a lot of physical work which is always good for distraction. Yeah, l=very much like WT except maybe a little more symphonic. Noth groups are more popular in Europe and South America han the US. But of course the cards must have cats on them! I alwasy have a tug of war with Brya about Cat Christmas Cards so some years I let him pick them and he goes for the pretty scenic ones which I think are boring LOL 6o is quite a few but if you get started early like you are, not too bad. Well, you will just have to start a Halloween Trend there :) I do deorate the house but where we live they are 1 acre and larger lots andno stret lighting so no kids come to the door. Parents pack the kids up on crs and take them to newer, well lighted developments where a lot of young families with kids live to do the trick or treating. What you two doing this weekend? We have another day of yard work today. The people we hired will finish taking eerything to the dump today. GOing to a Bowling Birthday party tonight with family and a lot of friends and their kids. We'll have pizza and beer there as the party starts at 5.

By Jiskat on Oct 31, 2014 at 5:58 AM

Woohoo!!! ICHC HP congratz!!! Fired before hired ;-D *cuddlies*

By Jiskat on Oct 31, 2014 at 4:35 AM

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry Shasta has passed on!!! I hope she didn't suffer to much!! It's very hard to say goodbye to a little friend like that! I'm so sorry for your loss sweetheart!!! I've heard of this band! They're kindda like Within Temptation right? I actualy think I have a few albums of theirs on my pc somewhere (mp3). Alinda like's them too, and uploaded them on my pc. But I've never listented to them yet. I love receiving post cards the hard copy ones! I sent them a lot too. I send about 60 C cards a year. Hard copies with cats on them ;-D I do make it easier on myself this year, by printing adress labels, and I make a message sticker as well. So I don't have to write all of them. In the Netherlands we don't celebrate Halloween. Thats to bad, because I really like it. Wish they would 'import' this day over here! Do you celebrate Halloween? Did you dress up the house too? Going to a dress up party of some sort? Have a Happy Halloween sweety!!!! XOXO

By Sylviag on Oct 29, 2014 at 8:38 AM

Yay on finishing your address book. How many C cards do you normally send each year? I still like sending hard copy cards. Some people have gone totally to email but there is something about getting a card in the mail that is fun and I like to display them. The conert is "Nightwish" which is a symphonic heavy metal - not everyone's up of tea LOL Jadzia and I share the love of that kind of music. Kinda sad day Mon as we had to let our elder Shasta go. She was losing more and more weight and there really wasn;t anything ore the vet could do and she agreed it was the best for Shasta. I stayed with her to help ease her over the bridge. We've been through this before but it suredoesn;t get any easier. lub and hugz

Troela and Nozem Autumn pics are cool.

By Jiskat on Oct 26, 2014 at 8:18 AM

What concert are you going to? I'm done with the sorting of adresses and stuffs! Yeah, finaly ;-D Now to begin writing C-Cards... :-P You have some nice trips to look forward to, and a concert!! Frustrating isn't it, when there only dentist and doctors app on next years calendar ;-D It was anice B-day party last night. And yes there was plenty of cake ;-D Took a really cute pics of the cats today, as they were watching leaves fall down on the outdoor enclosure. I'll upload them. How's your Sundog comming along. It's an easy going one over here. Hugz and smoochies.

By Sylviag on Oct 25, 2014 at 9:03 AM

Thanks much for the congrats! Cool to get a kind of Halloscream FP. Yeah very windy today and the leaves on the aspens we have in the big are almost gone. I did do a big address and email ady sort when we moved and redid our addy book. Although I rely more on m cell phone for phone#s and addies now. Nah, nothing eggziting, mostly doc and dental appts for beginning of next year LOL ALthough we have a coule of trips planned already. One for New Years and one for a concert of a group I want to see. Happy bdy to your BIL and enjoy the party and cake.
