That is odd that your cat is on Diabetic food. In my experience, a cat that IS diabetic has to go on that food, needs insulin, or both, but most start out as heavy cats. Does she drink a lot of water, and leave a lot of urine in her box? That is the first sign of diabetes. Glad you had her checked out. Pet sitting has been a bit slow for me, but is picking up starting tomorrow. I was super busy at the beginning of the year. I think people decided to go on vacations early, since our winter was so long. Gave me a summer break, but then there is no money coming in!! But it will pick up. Your kitty resort sounds nice. Do they have a website? I'd love to check it out. Have fun on your vacation. Going someplace fun?
I haven't but then I don't watch a lot of movies. And I confess I love the action, special effects, shoot every alien or bad guy in sight and kick butt and have sex inbetween LOL Elder Shasta has been losing weight and we took her in and she has a kidney infection and high blood pressure (rly??) She is on two different meds and a new diabetic wet and dry food. She is not diabetic but it has a high calorie content. She loves both and with the meds is gaining weight. We take her back for a check-up tomorrow before we leave for 2 weeks gain on Wed. She will go to a Kitty Resort that our vet recommends and they will be abl to ger her the meds and follow a feeding regimen. Have you been busy with pet sitting this summer?
Have you ever seen the movie 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?' The song You're So Vain was a big part of that movie. I think that was a Carly Simon song, right? I think I've seen that MOVIE 10 times! One of my favorites. Glad you liked my LOL.
I guess I am curious where Foxcat lives, considering I am only about 10 minutes from the WI/IL border! I know she lives in Illinois. I was surprised to hear you have a cat that eats like mine!! My Roxie doesn't care for dry food, so she has to have her wet food about every 2-3 hours. If I try to give her more than about a tablespoon, she won't eat it all. But every 2-3 hours, she circles around my legs, and won't give up till I feed her. They sure have us trained, don't they?
Belated thanks! Long vacay and fun family stuff has kept me from being on here much. Hope you are having a good summer. Probably very busy with pet sitting as people take vacations. Our vet recommended a wonderful cats only resort we have been taking our elder too when we are out of town. She has to be fed every few hours as she doesnt eat much at any one time and that's too hard for gson to do.
Oh MJ, those are wonderful pics of beautiful women friends! And how great you could meet your friend Sharon also. Great place to meet too. I've been to the falls once when I was about 16 - truly an astounding natural wonder. I'll post those to the Dr TC Cheezmeet and Picture Gallery.
Three pictures have been posted from my Canada trip. You will find them in my favorite's list. (link below) 'Sharon' is my friend who I have been writing to for over 22 years. We met through another cat site via CompuServe back then. It just happened that she and LittleAPC lived in the same city!! So I was finally able to meet her too. Small world, huh? http://profile.cheezburger.com/MJKittyMom/favorites
Think I'd better pass on the Dr. Tiny Cats. With my job, I get a lot of people telling me their pet has gone to the bridge, and it really hurts me when that happens. So I'd better not get involved even more. (to save my own health) When someone on my friends list has a death, I am more than happy to reach out to them, and comfort them. But thanks anyway. You are very special to deal with that the way you do.... Hugs!
LOL, the first link was an LOL I had sent to Histori_LOLs. I meant to C&P the link to DrTinyCatz - here it is. http://profile.cheezburger.com/DrTinyCatz/ You are not friends with DrTC but I would be happy to send you a FR. I collect all kinds of stuff there like holidays, pics of friends' animal companions and include all memorial LOLs for passed human and animal friends. I pick up the LOLs with pics that people put out of themselves and don't redo them. Usually it is a pic of whomever put out the LOL. I can't be pushy about it and ask people to make special LOLs.
I keep the Cheezmeet Picture Gallary in Dr TinyCatz http://cheezburger.com/8179976960 And the specific fave collection for the cheez fren pics is here http://profile.cheezburger.com/DrTinyCatz/collection/2796898/cheezfren-pic-gallery Fun to see what our friends look like in RL.
Happy Birthday - one day late :) Have a wonderful cheezmeet and be sure to take some pictures for me to share in the Cheezpeep Meet and Picture Gallery I have in Dr TinyCatz. xo http://cheezburger.com/8179844352
We did have a wonderful vacation. Hope you have moved out of the 30 degree range :) Although it sounds like at least one more winter storm going across the Northern tier. We still have very cold nights here, and a dusting of snow the other night, but the days hav often gotten into the high 50s the past couple of weeks so can workout in the yard but much too early to plant a lot yet and I willbe getting a greenhouset o grow vegies here beause the growing season is too short and the deer will eat everything and anything that is not fenced in. Gson did a good job so we will feel very cofortable leaving the house and kitties to hi when we go on our big vaation in Jun (over 2 weeks). All well on your end?
That sure was nice of you to pay your grandson for pet sitting!! My husband and I go round and round about that. He thinks regarding 'family' they are there to help each other, and should never get paid. To me, it's not necessary, the the gesture of payment is like icing on the cake. It really makes a person feel like they are really appreciated. I don't think it's right for simple jobs, but you have to put a little effort into something.... well, it's just nice!! Sounds like you hit gold with your grandson there. We're getting some 30 degree weather here now. It's like a heat wave!! Enjoy your vacation!!
All that snow must be getting really tiresome and I so feel for all the people from Montana on east :( I wonder if domestic volence inceased during the really bad winters :) That's the problem - snow often brings a a double whammy with a flooding event afterwards. When we were in WA we had a wonderfu friend who did our cat and house sitting for us and the money supplemented his SS. Down here, I am so glad we have the oldest grandson (17) who has his driver's license. He did a two day watch once already and did a great job, We are leaving tomorrow for a mini vacation and coming back Tues. He came over yesterday and we went through everyhting with him. As he gos to HS in town he will spend all the nights here. And he was most pleased wit he money :) We hadn't told him we were going to pay him and he as doing it "for grandma"
You wouldn't BELIEVE the snow we have! EVERYBODY is complaining!! It snows, doesn't get warm, then snows again. We just have piles and piles of the stuff! It's supposed to get warmer soon though so we'll get a break. Will get lots of flooding, that's for sure. How's the weather where YOU are?
