Some cats are very wary or anyone coming in from above and petting their head. What you need is a thick leather glove for his rough play :) One of our cats, Sonny, gives "love" nibbles when I pet him. So I stop before he gets serious, and then he butts his head against my hand for more petting, then he love bites, and so on LOL I know the kittehs liked you coming around more. Have a great weekend.

Rasputin.. yeah the pictures are some weeks/months(?) old. In the meanwhile he scratched me again. That happens when somebody touches him from above. He doan liek this. He prefers being petted when the hoomin is on the same level. And this (teh scratches) can happen when he misunderstands my body language and thinks I'm inviting him to play. And his "play" is very extreme. He uses all paws and claws (and maybe all 4 canine teeth) at the same time. +++ No vacation but I visited teh kittehs more often.

Uh oh, I see Rasputin gave you a "love" scratch :) I have a whole shelf of cat books, but not eductional ones, mostly funny ones. But then again those often are vey true to cat behavior. What a wonderful LOL Chris10a made for you about the shelter. Been on a two week road trp again but now home to stay for awhile. Did you take a vacation this year?

By Snake73 on Jul 29, 2014 at 2:59 AM

I've read some books about cats. I wouldn't have known that without reading these books. And the reason why I read the books is because I don't have cats at home. :)

By Sylviag on Jul 29, 2014 at 2:02 AM

You know, I never thought of that but makes total sense. As much as I adore and love the kittehs, I don't really have much of a Catucation in the finer points of their behavior :) They confoozle me all the time,

I think this scratching is an instinct from the house cats' ancestors. They had to hide their food from other animals to eat it later. So cats do this when they are sated.

Hai, best I could figure out from Google is that autokorso is a motorcade of cars following one another. Or in your case likely "Dacing in the Streets" :) The highlight of this summer for many Germans I'm sure. I can see Rasputin has the run of the place with his "escapes." Cute GIF of TInchen. One of my cas will do that when he is finished with his food. Dunno if he is ommenting on its flavor by trying to cover it up like litter :) WIll be leaving wed am for 2 weeks again.

By Snake73 on Jul 16, 2014 at 1:19 PM

Oh hai! What a great game. We watched it at a friend's home. We had barbecue and snacks and drinks. I dunno the English word for Autokorso, so we joined the Autokorso. :) So many people in the streets celebrating. We went into our favorite pub and hand some drinks. It was 3.a.m. when I went to bed. And I had to work on Monday. Was not easy. :) +++ Thanks for the compliment. I bought a macro objective for my camera. It works well. +++ Yeah, Rasputin really likes me. But that doesn't mean he never scratches or bites. He would need more than a house with a garden (which I don't have), I think he would need a farm where he can hunt mice. He is a very dominant tomcat. Sometimes I see him fighting with other tomcats. No, I don't think he gets adopted. But that doesn't matter. He has a good life at the shelter with all the people visiting him. He is free to go outsinde when he wants, even at night. I'm not sure if his life can get better.

Belated thanks! Congrats on Germany's win! Being half German I took great delight in that. Did you party with your friends during and after that game? I loved all your towel closet pics but that one had just the right expression. Really nice pics you took with all those colors. Yay on Bienchen being adopted! I just cant believe Rasputin hasn't been adopted yet. You sure you don't need an apartment kitteh :) I think you and Rasputin were made for each other :) We went on a 2 week RV road trp and thenlots of other stuff so hardly have had time to be on.

Apparently the US has a tough schedule, they're calling it the "Group of Death" LOL Ghana, Portugal and Germany. We're gonna need a lot of good juju just to get past Ghana. I don't regulary follow soccer but for the World Cup I do keep an eye on the US.

By Snake73 on May 31, 2014 at 3:33 PM

Thx. Maybe you did but I ignored it. I'm not sure. Yeah, no vacation but the soccer world cup is only 2 weeks away. I'm gonna watch Germany's matches with my friends.

By Snake73 on May 5, 2014 at 12:23 PM

I'm not quite sure but I think they brought the squirrel back to a forest when it got the medical care it needed.

By Sylviag on May 4, 2014 at 1:22 PM

I enjoy the pics of the shelter kits and always happy when one gets adopted. What does the shelter do with the non-cats? If they were "pets" they can't be rehabilitated back into the wild.
