Were you able to call any of those rescue organizations in the links about the kittehs? Seing as they have never been outside and no one has seen them, i think you are safe keeping them in until you can find homes for them.

Good to hear, just a different name for them. I am assuming she must be able to use their land line at least. Can't believe they would leave her alone with kids without a phone. She needs to take advantage of that time at home along to start making some calls. But she may be scared to. Sigh

ohio has ombudsman which are advicates for the disabled and elderly. so hopefully she can get to a phone and call them if not NC has been making calls on her behalf too.

To me it sounds like famiy abuse and an intolerable situation. Won't let her have her cell phone but expect unpaid kid and pet sitting!?? Obviousy they think she is competent enough for that Another thought is both in WA and OR all hospitals, nursing homes and assisting living facilities are required by law to have an "advocate" that is an outside party, often a volunteer, that will serve as an advocate for patients and residents with issues whether with the facility or the family. The name and contact info must be given to all residents and posted in a prominent place. I would assume OH is the same. I would recommend she call a few of these places and get some names of their advocates and contact them. They at least will have an idea of who can help her and possibly make a home visit which is what she needs.

slyvia from NC...Her sister did want to declare her incompetent but has backed off after I told her how many friends pollyme has. You have to understand she is still completely disable and on strong medications and is scared to do anything. She just wants to go home, but thanks to her sister there is no home to go to. I have asked her to get her lawyer to refer her to someone in Ohio. Right now, she is totally focused on the fact that she has to have a biopsy on a possible lung tumor (small). But she is miserable. If she gets good and mad, she will come out fighting. I will give her the info, but she doesn't have access to a computer or her own cell phone. I am making what calls I can for her and telling her what I find out

And on to the baby kats. Oh dear, there has to be another solution than putting them outdoors. Your profile says you live in NE Ohio, I did a google on cat rescue organizatons in NE Ohio. Maybe these are some you have not contacted and can maybe help, especiay since you are trying to home kittens which is much easier than older cats. The first one is cool because it gives a list of ALL cat rescue organizations in OH http://cat.rescueshelter.com/Ohio http://www.pawsandprayers.org/ http://www.northeastohiospca.org/ http://www.pawsohio.org/ http://www.arc-ohio.org/

Tender, can you please passs this on to someone who is in contact with Pollyme2. We were frens here for a long time and I have been EDing her horrible situation She needs legal aid and fast before her family tries to declare her incompetent and take whatever resources she has left or gets every month Don't know if she is on SSI, or what income she has. This would be a good place to start. A free legal aid group in Western OH. If nothing else perhaps they can refer her to another organizaton. http://www.ablelaw.org/get-legal-help

When you have indoor outdoor kitttehs it is always good for them to have a handy hidey hole that other animals can't follow and for safety like in a storm.

By TENDERHEART2002 on Aug 20, 2014 at 8:04 PM

me too!!! the only place she could have been was under the trailer. in the crawl space. that is the only plkace I was not able to phtsically look. the storm came on so fast I feel she darted under there. sigh of relief!!!!
