Get well soon and don't overdo with the elebenty things you have going on. Flus can come back to deal you another blow if you haven't rested and the virus isn't totally gone. I've seen some funny LOLs dealing with those teddy bears. Heres one of my favrits from jennnybookseller: http://cheezburger.com/8317398784

Very true - Squee seems to have the hots for my oldies at the moment! Had some enforced 'relaxation' at the weekend due to the flu, but much better today, thanks...

By Sylviag on Sep 14, 2014 at 4:46 PM

Ya take what you can get :) Hope you took some time to relax this weekend.

Wow, A one man building, maintenance, renovating, painting, IT tech. You are amazing considering that you haven't even lived there that long. That mattress should make a world of diference for Carol. Is she getting medical home health care when needed? Don't know if your insurance or your government health agencies provide that. Take it a little easy befoe you run yourself down :( Here's a little chuckles for you both my friends. xox http://cheezburger.com/8313370368

Hi Hun. Here's part of an email I just sent my daughter - it sets it all out... Since moving in we have bought a new car (the Elantra sold last week, after saving our bacon transport-wise for the best part of a year); had the decks sanded and treated with oil – they look a real treat; fixed a gas leak in the griller; had the wall extended in the kitchen to accommodate both fridges; lined the water tank at vast expense; extended, rebuilt and re-fitted the granny flat so it’s now a rentable proposition – just need to wash the cutlery and utensils and do some fine tuning and we should be able to advertise it on Facebook late this week; bought a house for Michael in Wollongbar – they moved in last weekend (It’s the first of our investment houses aimed at providing income: they pay us rent and we leave it to them when we both die); signed up with Wires Broadband, which provides a service equivalent to ADSL2 – they just increased our download entitlement from 40 to 60 gig per month at no extra cost – I like that in an ISP; had scads of extra power points and TV jacks installed together with infra red heaters in bathroom and toilet and an internal LAN cable to link the 2 computers; and bought me a new computer because the old one crashed terminally. I, who keep saying I’ll never touch a paintbrush again, somehow got to paint the entire studio/granny flat and the new kitchen wall... Carol has been in hospital twice and is still pretty iffy, but now we have the home oxygen she reckons they can’t do any more for her there than she can get here, and we have just ordered her one of those electric beds with special mattress that raises and lowers etc. Got it at a good discount from Harvey Norman of all places. We hope it helps with the bed sores... Our next big projects are installation of under-floor insulation ($2000) to cut down heating bills and keep the place cooler in summer, and installation of a 16 kilowatt solar power system, with storage batteries, to make us independent of power cuts and cut down substantially on power bills. The solar power company gave us some amazing discounts in response to Carol’s dying granny act, and with the Govt subsidy we shall be getting a top quality system for nearly $6000 less than it would otherwise have cost. We shall be looking for another investment property when the dust settles a bit. I'm still suffering from a nasty and persistent dose of the flu which I hate. And I just ran out of characters lol!

Happy birthday Hun - have a good one!

By Sylviag on Aug 27, 2014 at 6:09 PM

Wow, that's a lotta of rain and wind. Glad you are both safe. I use Chrome and moot point in relation to Sci fi now that I found it out it is one of your older ones. They should just trash ROFLazzi. You hve relaly been working hard and I know you will be happy when you can relax a bit more.

The dating technique still works for the older lols in IE (tho I can't get it to work in Chrome). The 'how to' lol is in a folder in my favourites if you want to try it again - basically just right click, view source and go to line 31... New house is keeping me on my toes. I'll be finishing painting the granny flat this week, after which it's move in the furniture and utensils and advertise for a tenant. Phew!... Life has been made difficult for the last week because we have had a 'tropical low' off the coast, which is the weather man's way of saying 'not really a cyclone'... We got about 11 inches of torrential rain and gale force winds and are partially flooded in - that's not a problem tho. The storms are supposed to dissipate today, after which back to spring sunshine. As to the scifi board I generally use the lolbuilder for demotivational stuff - I don't bother making real scifi lols any more. I can only think that no one else does either and that's why a bunch of old fps have resurfaced... Cheers - David

Hiya, how goes the new house battle? I wish we still had the feature to date when an LOL was made so I could see if they are all old ones. A fren gave me a way to do it but too complicated for me. I was surprised to some some new pics there. I still miss SiFi.

By beernbiccies on Aug 27, 2014 at 12:27 AM

I just looked it up. I made it on 14 Dec 2011, but the original has disappeared. The new copy seems to be starting again - go figure!

By Sylviag on Aug 26, 2014 at 8:26 PM

Maybe once a month I check Sci Fi. Has it been revived from it's coffin or is this one of yours on the FP an old one? I noticed today they did post some new pics in the builder. If an old one I bviously nissed it and belated congrats - if new one congrat also :) http://cheezburger.com/5527611136

By Sylviag on Aug 15, 2014 at 11:03 PM

Great to hear from you. Oh my stars, you have a 10 course dinner on your plate! No wonder you can't make it here much right now but good to hear on the wifi. What a nice thing to do for your gardener/friend! Glad to hear about Carol being home and doing much better. Hugz right back to her and looking forward to seeing her here when she can. Hope you still have my mail addy. Send me an email so I can pick up your new one. Sending you three extra pairs of hands to help get everything done LOL

Hi Hun. The computer problems have been fixed with WiFi - to which we have direct line-of-sight to the broadcast tower and which is proving to be as fast and reliable as ADSL2. I haven't been on Cheeze much because I have a new computer which needed linking to all the usual sites, and I keep getting caught up in housekeeping/building things associated with this house (which we love but which needs some fine tuning from builders/sanders/water tank repair men etc), and building the granny flat which I shall be painting next week, and buying an investment property. The granny flat is in the machinery shed of the house we live in and for a very modest price will be a very nice self contained 1 bedroom unit that we intend to rent out. The investment property is a house that we shall be renting to the guy who has been gardening for us for 25 years. There won't be any management issues there! He gets it at a preferential rent and when we both pop our clogs he inherits it as a thank you for years of friendship, loyalty and service. Carol has been in and out of hospital since we last talked, but is home again now and perking up quite well. She sends love and hugs. We should be getting a WiFi connection for her next week (after the electrician drags 25 metres of ethernet cable under the house) so you should see her on Cheese again soon. Btw our old email addys are of course no longer valid - we have new ones should you need to email us... Cheers. David

Rats, I can see by your profile you must still be having puter probs. Congrats on the LOLs you managed to make and got FP for though :) Glad Carol can be at home. I think that may be what MIL has but she just needs it mostly at night. It's like a compression machine that extracts O2 out of the air into the machine and through the tube for the nose? Oh sure, just take on the responsibility for another house :) But as an income genertor is a good idea. Are you going to personally manage it or have a proeprty maanger do it. We had friends that had a rental and got tired ot handling every little complaint and running ovre there all the time and turned it over to a manager. Which house is the granny fla for?? We got back from our latest adventure Sun evening and will be staying put for awhile. No worries if you can't answer for awhile and keeping my fingers crossed you can be on more soon.

By beernbiccies on Jul 21, 2014 at 11:29 PM

I am back, sort of. Using a prepaid wifi dongle I can get some internet access. But the big computer crashed and I can only get out on Carol's, which seems to mean I can make lols only in basic...:(. Still working on it tho... C came home a week ago but is still pretty iffy - the home oxygen generator we got for her keeps her out of hospital now tho but she's still very weak. Still unpacking but mostly finished with that. New car is terrific, And we just bought another house to rent out and supplement the income so we're pleased with all that. Builder starts work on the granny flat on Friday - we're extending and improving it . I'll be on more and more as we progress - please tell our friends we miss them too. Love and hugs. David

By Sylviag on Jul 14, 2014 at 8:35 PM

Assume the puter problems at the new house are still an issue as I don't think you have been on since last time we chatted so :( Hope it gets resolved soon.

By Sylviag on Jul 7, 2014 at 9:13 PM

Good grief - there just had to be a moving snag or two or three! Sorry to hear Carol had to go back into the hospital and wishing her a speedy return to health so she can enjoy your lovely new house. Give her my love. Hope you an get the puter crap cleared up. I know that is a major source of entertainment for you (and us who enjoy all your good stuff - love the Dust Bunny GIF!) Glad to hear the bright spot on the new vehicle. Good luck on figuring out which box holds the old car papers LOL I am still finding things I stuck in a closet nook somewhere and coudn't remember just whih nook or cranny. Keep in touh as you can/ We have been very busy ourselves with traveling and family fun stuff so I have not been on much either and likely will be on nd off myself til the gkids go back to school.

By beernbiccies on Jul 7, 2014 at 5:47 PM

Hi Hun. New house and new car yes, but pretty disastrous otherwise. Solicitor screwed up the settlement date so we were ready to go a week early... Total confusion! Won't bore you with details. No internet access in the new place - I'm using the hospital public access computer at the moment. Even the wiFi dongles won't work for some reason, tho I was getting a very slow response on Carol's machine yesterday - 5 mins to load dashboard... But her computer crashed today. Mine won't get any kind of signel. We gonna have to totally rething our computing needs. Day after we moved in C had to go to hospital and is still there. Angina, poor breathing, elevated pulse rate etc. Need I go on? Oh yes and we ran out of gas the day after the gasman found the gas leak... But it's a lovely house and we're glad to have moved! All in all my visits to ichc will be at best sporadic till we get our computing sorted out. On the bright side the new car is great. When I can find the papers I can dispose of the old one now lol! It was good seeing my daughter who came up for a few days to help unpack tho. Anyway, I'll try making a lol to say thanks to those who congratulated me on fps recently. May be back tomorrow on hospital machine as C will be here for quite a while yet. See ya - xoxoxox - David
