Thanks for the congrats and for the Thanksgiving message. Nice sentiment and nice lol! Was listening to Stan Freberg's 'The United States of America' in the car last week - we all know you're supposed to be eating roast eagle...!
That's a fair chunk of property to landscape but a little at a time. Oh I love bougainvilleas but have never lived anywhere where they would survive. What kinds of veggies do you grow? I got a fair amout and variety out of the 8x16 foot greenhouse we put in here this year. Ah yes, the pesky cows :)
Forgot to mention - the yard work is just beginning. We have put in some veggie beds and a shade sail for the more delicate plants we brought with us (those that survived so far lol), but the 'yard' is about an acre around the house so it's going to take a while. My next priority is to put in something to stop the cows next door eating the small creepers I'm planting along the fence line to hide the fence and the weeds next door! Haven't made my mind up yet whether to electrify it or put up some slabs of pool fencing we brought with us... Once the bougainvilleas have grown up it shouldn't be a problem as they have nice sharp long thorns...
Glad you are getting to the end of a long moving and getting comfy process. Hope you took some before pics. ALways fun a few yes down the road to see all you've acomplished. LOL on he cows - sounds purty rural. Must be abig field on one side of the property. Washig paws is great!
Yup we're getting there. Heading off to ikea next week for a new wardrobe and some computer desks and various lights and other items to fix up Carol's bedroom and the library (my office). And we're putting an electric strip along the side fence to stop the cows pushing under the bottom strand to eat our little trees and creepers... That'll fix 'em! Just made a few lols - nearly forgot how lol!
And another Hot Diggity Dog congrats! That sounds great! You do get a lot of sun so solar makes total sense. I imagine the bed is something like a hopsital bed where it can be configured in all kinds of ways for comfyness. We've been doing great spending a lot of time with family and friends. Unusually long and hot summer here and Bryan and I are just about done with a huge yard clean-up project of years worth of pine needles and woody debris leftover from when the house was built I think.
Thanks Hun - yes, pretty much. The new solar array was commissioned last week so we're feeling good about saving money on power and being independent of power cuts etc. And C got her new automatic bed last week and it makes a big difference for her. How have you and Bryan been?
