Thanks for the additional congrats. I very much hope less mental stress will help my tattered physical body. Thanks for picking up the Brite Eyes LOL for BF and the principal LOL for KKPS. I'm being lazy (and time conscious) and combining messages when I can. I used up a big chunk of the evening doing paper work. I am more than happy that tomorrow is finally Friday! I hope I can finish the Gang of Ten LOLs this weekend.

It's Pandamonium on the AnimaGIF page - congrats! Oh yeah, you got me by one whole year :) I do believe less mental stress helps the physical body and I am really looking forwar to you being able to retire my friend.

Thanks for the congrats. I am stunned. Maybe I should make only one or two LOLs a week from now on. LOL! I have thought about checking the shelters for older cats when the time comes. I will see how I am doing physically at that point. My Achilles tendons and legs give me fits. I'm hoping when I retire in 2016, less stress on them will help. I'm 64, BTW, you youngster. ;-)

LOLCat congrats for cute little bat kitty! Cookies trump blud every time :) And thanks for your congrats! I don't usually go to Senor GIF - but see on your DB that congrats are in order there too! That is so wonderful they are still with you. Never say never. For one thing you are NOT that old. Our crew is fairly young (aside from Shasta) with Lucy being the oldest at 7. I'm 63 and can't pciture not having cats. Shelters always have older cats that can't find homes because they are 10+ years old. Any home for however long, is still better than being in a shelter and facing euthanesia. Jus saying :)

I have two of Brite Eyes' daughters, Woodee and Prudence. They are eighteen, and I know each day they are with me is a gift. I don't know how I am going to deal with it when both are gone. I'm too old to get more cats--have no one to take them when I get too feeble to care for them or go myself. It's going to be mighty sad around here with no felines in the house. I had a peek at the cheetahs during lunch. Milani was stretched out asleep, and all three cubs had fallen asleep at the milk bar. Wilson is taking too many hits for sure. I hope they can get that fixed. Congrats on the double FPs! That's terrific. I need to go find them.

By Sylviag on Oct 21, 2014 at 12:00 AM

Usually they are all asleep right about now (250 ET) ut aught all three playing with eah other MOre like stumbling over each other and Mom giving herself a little bath. They have to get it together before the next game . Can't keep expecting WIlson to make those first downs and touch downs :) I am concerned about the sacks on WIlson - he needs more protection. DOnot want to see him get hurt. Yes Moanday was very very good to me - got 2 kitteh FPs back to back - can't even remember the last time thta happened.

My wonderful friend - what a big heart to keep Brite Eyes AND her whole littter! May I ask how many are Still with you?

I agree that the cubs are most likely out of danger now. Thanks for the strength--need it. I try to get a good rest at night, but my insomnia doesn't always allow it. I'm not happy about the Seahawks at all. I know they have injury problems, but I thought they would beat the Rams. I'm starting to become concerned. Hope your week has gotten off to a good start.

By Sylviag on Oct 19, 2014 at 11:01 PM

Oh lucky you to see the cub close-ups :) Been busy a lot this weekend so haven't ha much chance to watch them during the day Glad to hear on the cam cuz it would be fun to see them outside. I really do think they are out of danger now and growing fast! Send you sone strength for thee week and be sure and rest at night

Thanks for the AC congrats the other day. The zoo is going to move the one camera and add a second one soon because the cubs are starting to leave the den box. During my planning time Friday I was at my desk in front of the computer but not using it. I was making a seating chart for all of my students who will be testing in one of the big computer labs this week (state writing test). I decided I could work and have the cheetahs on too. I would assign some seats and then glance at the screen. Well, to my surprise, I saw during one glance that Milani was gone, and the door that can be seen just to the left of the den was closing. I wondered if a keeper was feeding her. I glanced more frequently at the screen, and saw shadows moving to the left of the den. Then a gloved (latex exam glove) hand reached in and snagged one cub. Another hand appeared and went under the cub's bottom, and the cub was removed from the den. I realized a checkup was in progress. I admit at that point I was doing more watching than assigning seats (I did finish that job though). Presently the hands appeared and the cub was returned and another snagged. This time the hands moved toward the camera and held the cub there for a good closeup for those of us lucky enough to be watching. The cubs were all removed and put back three times. Each time after the first removal, viewers got that great closeup. I am still kicking myself that I didn't think to grab some screen shots--so stoopy of me. When the last cub was being returned the last time, the owner of the hands leaned in far enough that I saw his face. It was Jim Anedlin, the zoo director and the man responsible for the cheetah breeding program. I could tell how much he cares about these babies. Each time he returned a cub, he petted its head and rubbed its sides as it walked away. There was much tenderness there. That night on the news there was a report on the good checkup results and that soon there will be two cameras.

Just watched Milani giving the cubs a midnight bath. She was washing 2 and the third one was by the wall and ran over and piled on top of the other 2 to get his licks :) She seems to be doing a very good Mom job for her first litter. I hope when they start going outsie they will still be able to have some kind of cam.

AnimaLOL congrats! You may not have much time lately but glad you can sneak a few great LOLs in.

The powers that be have found ways to pile even more on us, just when we thought that wasn't possible. I had no weekend last week due to all the work I dragged home with me--saw no games, college or pro. I was very unhappy when I did check the scores. Thanks for checking on me. I hope someday to get back on regularly, but that may not be until I retire. LOL Hope all is well with you and yours. I enjoyed the pictures you posted.

This school year seems so much busier for you than ever :( Miss seeing you. I've had a busy 4-5 days myself and haven't been able to be on the puter much during the day when the cubs are the most active. Tonight they are all snoozing with Mama. I didn;t even watch the /seahwks game on Sun as we have been working on a big yard project. Since we lost, glad I didn't watch. Take care of yourself my friend, don't want to see you get too run down.

By cataff on Oct 12, 2014 at 8:13 AM

I finally watched a bit of Cheetah Cam this morning. There's less and less free time now. Spent nearly the entire weekend on work stuff--saw no games at all. This is getting ridiculous. I do hope the cubs are past danger, but I will feel better about it in a couple of weeks. I've lost kittens to the accursed syndrome beyond a month. Hope you are having a good weekend.

By Sylviag on Oct 10, 2014 at 10:42 AM

I caught them this morning all three nursing :) They are so curious about where Mom goes when she steps outside but so far the barrier they have is keeping them in but it won't be long before they get big enough to tumble over that :) I think they are past the critical age now and hopefully will be fine. Milani seems to be a relaly good Mom.

By cataff on Oct 9, 2014 at 5:23 PM

Wilson definitely pleased all those fans from Richmond who went up to the game and a lot of us at home too. Every time I watch the cubs, I look hard to see that all are moving around and eating and that no one is smaller than the other two. So far, so good. I do hope all three will be okay.

By Sylviag on Oct 8, 2014 at 8:45 PM

Yeah, if it wasn't for WIlson we would not have won that one. He is a wunder kind! When I amon the puter now I check te cam to see waht the little furballs are doing. A lot of snoozing :) But they relaly look good, plump and moving well. Yay.

The cheetahs are very hypnotic. I don't have much time to watch, and I get mad that I can't stay longer and enjoy them while they are still wobbly. Seems the Seahawks may have taken Washington too lightly. I hope they don't make that mistake with Dallas. I don't think they will keep it up, but the Cowboys have been playing better of late.

By Sylviag on Oct 8, 2014 at 6:35 AM

So enjoying the cheetah cub cam. They are still so cautely floppity when they walk around.

By cataff on Oct 6, 2014 at 2:47 PM

Hope you can catch the cubs when they are awake and active--doesn't last long before sleep overcomes them, but it's really cute! The Seahawks should have an easy game tonight. I won't get to watch it--goes too late for me--but will check the score in the morning.

By Sylviag on Oct 5, 2014 at 11:06 PM

Thanks for sending me the Cheetah Cub Cam! I've bookmarked so can check it here and there. Not much going on as snoozling :) I know you are really busy with work so it's nice when you can pop in to hopfully get a few chuckles.

By cataff on Oct 5, 2014 at 12:26 PM

Thanks. I haven't had time to get on here and can't stay now, but I wanted you to know I did see your message. They have set up cheetah cam for the three survivors: http://www.metrorichmondzoo.com/cheetahcam.shtml

S**t! 2d cub died yesterday, but the rest are doing well. Keep praying they make it. Link to article http://www.nbc12.com/story/26686193/cheetah-cubs-to-get-checkup

By cataff on Sep 30, 2014 at 11:36 PM

No, not a single word. They didn't put in the streaming video, haven't reported the results of the necropsy, and have given no reports at all about the other four. I am very worried that they all have genetic defects and aren't doing well. I hope I'm wrong, but the longer there is no word at all, the more I expect bad news. It makes me sick to think that cheetahs may well become extinct, along with so many other species. Curses on us humans. Thanks for asking about the cubs.

By Sylviag on Sep 30, 2014 at 8:38 PM

Anything new on the cubs?

By cataff on Sep 26, 2014 at 8:27 PM

Thank you very much for the links. Those cheetah cubs need a splort alert, and that is a perfect school sign that Anselm found. The Richmond Zoo hasn't said another thing about the four remaining cubs, nor have they set up the cheetah cam as they had said they would do before they realized how ill the little girl was. I suspect they may say no more until the cubs are a month old and likely to make it if they are okay at that time. I appreciate the congrats too. It has been a long time between FPs, but I haven't made many LOLs since going back to work, and that's not going to change. I hope you have a good weekend.
