That sounds really interesting! It must be really neat to see one of the cases you picked on the show. It's such a funny show, especially with Judge Judy's no BS policy, lol. She's a very intelligent lady. I'm sure she's fun to hang around off-air, but I would hate to get on her bad side, that's for sure! Oh yes, moving is always an interesting experience. Hauling the stuff around is a pain in the butt. I remember when I had to sit in the backseat of my parents' old Honda with bins of clothes and other smaller items crammed to the ceiling. It's a miracle we all made it in one piece!
TMI Continued.... As for 'Judge Judy', no I'm not going to be on it...I'm what's called a 'stringer'. I go to the file reading room in the county courthouse ( MetroCourt in Alb. NM) and search the kind of civil case that gets put on the show. I look for 'Jerry Springer-isms'. Each time I find one, I fill out a form as to who, what. where and when and UPS it all to my boss at ABC Productions in Hollywood, CA. If one of them are picked to be on Judge Judy' (or Judge Joe Brown), I get a little card in the mail telling me what case number and what show number it is and when it's supposed to be aired. None of them are aired in read time so it might be a while to get the notice (one time I went to do research and took one of the cards with me. The file clerk was curious and looked up the case number. The show hadn't been run yet, but the public records said that the case had been dismissed.) It's not a very hard job, the biggest problem I have is having to bother the clerk
I know what you mean about having to move. I was a good bit younger then, but I remember (barely) when we moved from Alaska to Montana. Imagine, two adults and three kids in a packed station wagon driving the Aalcan (sp?) Hiway which was a dirt road at the time. I swear, the only thing that we hadn't stuffed aboard was my step-father's (one of Ma's Xes) big assed motor cycle. It was so big, all five of us could be on it at once (a BSA, if I remember right). My two younger half brothers would be in the hard saddlebags, and I'd be squashed between the adults. I shudder when I think back on it, knowing now what a wreck would have done to all of us. No problem! Thanks for being my friend :) Wow, that's quite a string of events! Things can certainly get hectic at times, no doubt about that. Lugging stuff back and forth in cars is awful. I remember when my family moved to GA from NJ, and we had to take a bunch of stuff in the car as well as getting a moving company. Things were sticking out everywhere! Lol, goodness, I hope I won't have to go through that again for a while. Did you have fun at the Japanese show? You mentioned 'Judge Judy,' are you going on the show? That would be neat! Oh, don't worry about being long-winded, I can be verrrrrry long-winded at times ;)
Part 2: After those two days and shopping before coming home Wednesday, I was fried this morning so I didn't go into Albuguerque MetroCourt to do research for 'Judge Judy'. Like I said, long days. Anyway, thank you for wanting to become my LOL friend. I guess the first things you'll notice about me is my long- windedness AND my inclination towards TMI. Thank you, again . Bye.
Sorry to take so long to get back to you. It was a looong weekend and has been a slightly less loong (notice one less 'o' ;~D) week so far. was in a Japanese cultural show Saturday and that took three days (with three carloads) to get set up. We had about an hour to take it down and only two cars to put it in. You've heard of putting a quart in a pint jar?...well, we was doing it. We were too pooped to unload Sunday so we did it Tuesday. When I went to work Tuesday, I realized that having that long folding table sticking out of my trunk (I have a Saturn and the back seats fold flat) like that had drained my battery. I never noticed a light back there, but clearly I have one. Anyway, Tuesday I had to borrow my sister's Matrix to get to work (I clean houses part time). Had to work Wednesday, too, but I'd jump-started my car off Talina's and was able to take it to work. I don't usually have two days in a roll. After those two days and shopping before coming home Wednesday
