We all are...at least , Ma, Duane (my baby brother, who's 6'4''and works out a lot) and myself. Personally I don't think my other brother (Ma's middle kid) could care less. Maybe that's why he moved so far from the rest of us. Any time Pat calls, you can bet he's fishing for money. Not a nice person.
Well, Sully saw his 'girlfriend' and came running. Ta was on my plantation saddle (an English- ooking saddle that you sit like a Western. Ta rides English) and only managed a trot, but that still got Sully in a racing mood and came running and bucking...straight at me! Not that I was worried that he'd run me down, I was more worried that he'd turn right (my right) when he got to me, and we'd have to start all over again, instead of left, through the gate. Sully did what he was supposed to...finally...and we had all 3 back on the place. Our next job was fixing the corral panels that he'd actually run down. There was a break in them. Sully knows how to 'lift and separate', as it were and gets the pegs that connects the panels together (and the whole thing upright) loose and then had flattened (and or twisted) that panel and 4 others. The horse-children happily nommed away on the hay bales while we (cussing at the job somewhat) got the fence panels lifted and put together again
Come 6am, we tried again. Ta went up and bought some more hay (way earlier than she intended to) and went back to where we'd had to leave. The flashlights and the car headlights we used the night before was not only spooking him, but the neighbor's horses as well, which is another reason we quit. Anyway the idea was that I'd man the main gate and she'd drive the hay truck (Rosie) to where Sully was, (busily insulting the resident stallion, of course) and let him see it, hoping he'd follow. No luck there. So we ended up saddling Cory, (who's over 20 years old if she's a day) and Ta headed out again. I couldn't stop Smoke from following Cory, so we had 2 horses running loose. Since he won't get too far from Cory, it wasn't as big of a deal as Sully getting out.
Haven't been up to much...don't have much of a 4th (or New Years) here. The two big dogs are terrified of fireworks (and thunder). There's not much unused room under the bed, but both BlueHeelers find a place anyway. Other than that, nothing much is going on. Oh, the 19th is my mother's birthday and my (bio) brother's gift toher was flying me to CA. I'm trying to get hold of one of my house-cleaning clients to see if I can do her house Mon or Tuesday, since I'll be flying out on Thur. her usual day. Not much else.
