MAMAGWYN UPDATE 9 by tookat http://cheezburger.com/Asset/View/4599618048 ~~~~ Winnie wonka made this beautiful lol for us to use as our avatars as a get well prayer for mamgwyn. Please use it and encourage your friends to do so! Keep the prayerchain moving. Dark of moon is in 6 days. That is the most common time for beings to choose to go home to Source. Gwynn wants to live and those of us who love her, want her to stay. http://cheezburger.com/Asset/View/4590975744

Mamagwyn/majikkittehz/Glynda is somewhat better this morning but still in serious condition. Please send prayers and healing l.ight to her and her family. Post messages at either mamagwyn or majikkittehz. She has been put into induced coma to make being on a respirator more easy and is being given high levels of antibiotics so she is stablizing. Her husband Rich is with her. http://cheezburger.com/View/4541092352

Thanks for the reminder. Once I turned over and realized that I was laying on the bottom (instead of kissing the sky), well ... Yep, only direction from here is up!

I'm glad that you injoyed to the lol-card. I'm not always chatty, but I did want to acknowledge everyone who took time to reach out and console me. So often we get wrapped up in ourselves and it's good when we are nudged back into the company of friends. Thanks again! Anna

Right you are! So often I'll hear Mamma Lady out in the hallway - she's been gone 6 years. I keep catching glances of Lucretia from the corner of my eye - she's been gone 3 years. I'm sure that it won't be too long before I start hearing Bandit and McGruder! Thank you for all of your kind words, you've been a world of comfort. BTW, I don't miss the pillow that Hathor destroyed, but I do regret not having taken photos before cleaning up the mess.

Now I know why little Hathor is so loving! I got hooked on the name because of the Goddess of Destruction title - all feathered toys have been plucked, boxes of tissue have to be kept under lock and key, etc. She even liberated a down-filled pillow from a bedroom, dragged it into the living room and tore through the ticking! I awakened the next morning to find a snow storm of feathers blowing under the ceiling fan! She and Wally were dancing in the feathers and McGruder was laying on the couch watching (I swear that he was laughing)!

We knew the odds were not good for Bandit, but we have the comfort of knowing that we did all that we could and that his last days were loving and peaceful. McGruder, on the other hand, was a shock to me. Or maybe I was just in denial - he and I were close buddies for a very long time. He nursed me through all of my illnesses and even shared asthma attacks with me! I am profoundly grateful that he got to share the last two weeks with little Hathor - he imparted his catly wisdom to both her and Wally. Wally, after having stood in McGruder's shadow for so long is not so sure what he thinks of being alpha and an uncle!

The kitten in the measuring cup was Bandit. He showed up on our doorstep this past June, but he had a massive eye infection that moved into his brain. We did all that we could for him and he was quite comfortable for the three days that he survived. The calico is Hathor. She joined our household 2 weeks ago. She had time to rub noses with McGruder and seemed to be a great comfort to him in his last days. She and Wally are bonding closer and playing together now.

yep, yawns are contageous all right....I hope allergy sniffles aren't. Today seems to be a relatively safe from sniffle day so far....but then I took a lot of antihistimine earlier. I am just enjoying the fall weather much as I can. Waiting for things to change again. Hoping for some things to change again.....lol. Once upon a time I wanted no change in my life....felt most comfortable that way.....now, I some things can't change fast enough for me...somewhere in between..maybe there is a balance!

By TampaAnna on Sep 13, 2010 at 11:50 AM

Thanks for adding me back on. I'm glad that you liked the birthday lol; I'd been saving the picture just for you. Hope that your sniffles are better and that the yawns are fewer. Great ... now I'm yawning!

The tower house a couple of the painting studios and the view was spectacular from the full length windows. There was no security to speak of except for the photo studio, sculpture and printmaking studios where there was either vlauable equipment or chemicals, but as soon as the instructors or grad students knew you were a serious student they showed you how to break into the studios and store areas. People who wanted to go out for midnight food would go into the ground floor sculpture studios, unlock a window, and crawl back through when they got back just in case the outer door props got knocked loose. Oh those were the days. I spent one hated semester in the new building.....bleah....and you couldn't open the windows or crawl out on the roof.

In 1971 I got a workstudy job in the art school coffee lounge. Really easy, make sure the coffee urns don't run out, refill the tea bags and Swiss Miss hot chocolate packets....sugar, creamer....keep the donut boxes in semi respectable order...and you could spend the rest of the time reading your art history asignments. Those days I took my coffee very sweet with lots of creamer.....this was before the photoography studio labtech convinced me that if I wanted real caffeine instead of vending machine swill, without leaving the art school, that I would drink my coffee black....and if necessary without sugar. Anyway, I accidently used coffee instead of the hot water for my cocoa one morning....and usually drank that until I became a black coffee adict a year later. Funny how all nighters quickly change your perspective. I LOVED that old building. It had a Tiffany lamp and pewabic tile in the lobby floor, three regular storries topped with a two story tower that housed a couple of t

Lol, going to write about my mochalatte discovery back in undergrad school....and right up at the top of the page is gramawgs asking if I recommend Ginger tea....heartily for stomach upsets and for creating heat in the body for many reasons. For muscular aches and pains, some cider vinegar and liquid (as in tea) or leaf comfrey about 1/4 to a standard hot bathtub....or Arnica Oil made by Welleda. They add a little wintergreen or other mentholatum source to the oil. It is wonderful soothing solution to bumps, bruises and muscle pain.
