And before you ask, Rick Mercer is a Canadian comedian who is more politically savvy than most of the people who run for office. This is a clip from his show where he visits my old high school, where I frequently did supply teaching. I was called in to work that day by the Vice Principal to fill in for a teacher, so I was there when Rick was there! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC9T-m9N3ys
I agree. But, regardless of how I feel about it, the gun lobby in the US is extremely powerful politically. The 2nd amendment was about bearing arms to protect your country, not for someone to have 20 firearms and thousands of bullets. Don't talk to me about deer hunting if that's what you have. You don't care about hunting, just shooting something. And for every gun out there, there's a nut who will steal it and kill somebody. The US is out of control. This should have been done long ago and assault weapons should have never been sold to the general public in the first place.
Can't respond for exploded head from jealousy! Wait, wait... I met Rick Mercer. How often do you meet your celebrity crush? There! Take that! Oh, and the snow drone-- gotta get my daddy one so he can stop shovelling snow at 82. Too cheap to hire someone, and I live too far across town to deal with it.
Okay, I'm jealous. I've never seen them in concert. My experience has always been limited, although I saw Eric Clapton back in the late 80s while on-- believe it or not-- a field trip for College. I was in a sales and merchandising program and the prof. managed to swing it so that we were seeing how the Carrier Centre organized events and it just so happened that a Clapton concert was scheduled for the day before our visit. So ten tickets were obtained and our schedule was altered slightly and we got to see Slow-Hand Rock God live and from floor seats. Still, you got to see Rush, man!!
He is the worst example of a gun owner that could ever have been allowed in public. Unfortunately, that's how a lot of non gun-owners think of the opposition and he stood up there and made an absolute fool of himself. Gun owners must have been wishing he'd never been born...or worse
Yes, I'm glad that the only Rush we have in Canada is the band and the other one at least has a border between us. To semi-quote Mama Turnblad in the original movie "Hairspray", "That man makes me ashamed to be white". And congratulations on your ball-breaking FP today! Hope your week is going well and that you are warm and cozy.
