Well...everytime we think of Ireland, we think of luscious GREEN. We have a bit of that here somewhere (not South Texas, that's for sure). That's something to celebrate every day of the year! When I see that kind of green, I thank God for being alive another day.

You probably do have holidays and/or traditions that we don't have here but probably not that many...only because there's a huge chunk of the US population that has Irish roots and they are very proud of their heritage (I should know, I lived in the Chicago area for 21 years and we non-Irish felt Irish by osmosis!). We don't have Thanksgiving where I was born (Argentina) but we have "El día del niño" (Day of the Child) when we celebrate childhood/boyhood/girlhood and I haven't seen that day celebrated anywhere else.

Oops! Mis-direct, sorta. For y'all out yonder, I say: No idea what gives across the pond...we're just a bunch of turkeys here in the colonies! http://cheezburger.com/View.aspx?aid=2875243520

Just popped in and saw your note. There have been TV news reports even here in Knoxville Tennessee about the flooding in Cork! Muriel says you folks are OK in Bantry though. So glad. Esp. w/her buying a new house and all.
