Hey Bill! Great to see your the AnCap FP! The timing couldn't have been better, as I've had a cold/flu/whatever that's settled in my lungs and I have almost no voice today. Feeling OK, though, definitely on the mend. I sure do miss you being here, and your great sense of humor. I hope life is treating you well. Happy Holidays and New Year!

Hiya Bill! Great to hear from you!! Schmuck... you?! Not.A.Chance. And "multitask sites" sounds utterly accurate. I know what you mean. Not enough hours in the day. There never were, and now with these magic boxes that let us see so much more so easily but only second, third, fourth, fifth, etc-hand - and addictively at that - there are even fewer hours. That's a lovely thought about trying to exist fully in whichever worlds you choose to exist in. I have to say, I don't think I'm very good at it. (Told you I knew what you meant by Multitasking FAIL.) I think I met One, once, but I seem to remember he spelled it differently, some regional thing, I think... "Juan."

A much belated thanks. Just tripping through here and having fond memories! Appreciative of your friendship and sorry I'm such a schmuck for not being able to multitask too many sites at once. That sounded horrible: multitasking sites. You probably know what I mean. If you exist in a world, you have to try to fully exist in it. And this one is so big and beautiful and absorbing it has to be given full attention (or put on momentary "hold"). One is grateful for the friends who don't delete one for not being momentarily here. Or I am anyway. I never really knew who that "one" character was. ;-)

Hiya Bill! Congrats on your histy FP!! Talk about a surreal day... I have a great article that includes major surrealism, along with comments I added, that I could email to you. Is there an email connection at your website that you look at regularly? Let me know where I can send the article. I think you and "your" dog will like it. And... how ya been?

Oh, c'mon, Bill! You've seen how much I can write at one time, lol! Not to worry about "typing a book." My print size gripe is that "r-n" often ends up looking like an "m." What do you think of the now minute caption writer credits on the FP? (Sorry if I've mentioned this before - can't remember who I talked with about it.) I don't always remember to check them so I know to send congrats to those who don't make the FP a lot because they just don't draw my attention like they used to. And if you increase the font size for that, everything else is *enormous*! Grrrr.... ++ I didn't see Bad Teacher but saw the ads for it. Parts looked humorous, but other parts were trying to drop kick a cactus into my feminist sensibilities. That's not to say others don't have the right to enjoy it, just that I'm glad no one's forcing it on me, ya know? I've seen Reno 911 a couple times. The concept is good, but not one that keeps me going on a long term basis. But that's OK, too, since some of what does appeal to me ad nauseum is not others' cup of tea. Variety makes for spicy lives for hoominz!

By WilliamKeckler on Feb 26, 2012 at 10:51 AM

Yeah, it does! My eyesight isn't always the best and I thought your "Arnie" said "Annie" at first. And I was searching my brain for an "Annie" reference. I'm glad the "r" came clear to my myopic eyes. Although a funny Annie reference the other day...not sure if you saw Cameron Diaz's recent movie Bad Teacher...it's often very funny. It's more like a t.v.v movie than a movie movie but still worth the rental. She's a horrible teacher (you know how the heart of gold is going to appear in trut movie cliche fashion). But in one scene when she wants to get over on a guy who administers an important test by which her teaching skills are judged she wears this hideous red wig to play a "character." And I kept saying, that wig is RIDICULOUS. Nobody's worn their hair like that since the 1930s! And then in the next scene, the drama teacher is complaining, "Who stole the Annie wig?" She wore the Annie Wig to play a barfly, dope the guy with roofies or something and then...well...do worse things. It felt so...depraved. But funny. And the guy was the one who plays Dangle on that funny cop show, Reno 911. It's sort of a throway movie but it does have a few yuks. I'm just poppin in and out. Sorry I typed a book for your freaking wall. But Arnie, Annie triggered that!

By Emerald63 on Feb 25, 2012 at 11:09 PM

Thanks! I wasn't sure the Arnie stuff would be quite right, but I'm glad someone thinks it works. :)

I like all your new ones. And I"m jelly of your Schwarzenegger accent skills. I tried to do one earlier and it totally didn't sound like him when I looked at the "translation." Yours does.

By WilliamKeckler on Feb 25, 2012 at 4:01 PM

You have explained the mystery, I think. Have a nice night. And thanks. I'll check out your new ones! Cheers.

What I'd noticed lately is that going back to LOLs I made a few days back, I can add another vote. (Hey, if I have to I know it's not going anywhere anyway, so I'm not trying to cheat. Besides, they've always said votes cast on the +3 pages don't count. I just like to have my one little vote not feel so lonely...) What I thought I'd discovered was that adding a second one isn't possible after all, since it's gone when you go back to that LOL again. I've tried by definitely choosing the LOL again, and not just using the back button. The back button will make it look like they've removed the vote, but that's not it. But yeah, even going back to the DB and then choosing My Stuff again and the LOL again has the second vote disappearing. But I had NO idea that first votes were disappearing too! I've never seen that happen. Try again w/o using your back button and see what happens. Just to let you know... I made what I think is a damn fine LOL just now and that I'm signing off. TTYL & glad to see you back!

By WilliamKeckler on Feb 25, 2012 at 3:10 PM

Just a note...that definitely must have been voting wonkiness on your thing. Because I always give five stars to anything I favorite and I looked back at something on a hunch and my vote had disappeared from the LOL I just favorited. None of them seem to have any votes at all. Maybe you knew this, but I haven't been on so it's news to me.

By Emerald63 on Feb 25, 2012 at 2:08 PM

Nope, not hallucinating, alas. I was looking for that section on the LOLbuilder a couple days ago, as well as a site for the results. I'd had trouble getting anything onto voting pages a while back and corresponded with Tofu about it. She suggested accessing the builder from the site where I want something to be considered. When I had no luck finding one that looked right, I just made it generically from my dashboard link. This is it: http://cheezburger.com/View/5874825472. I can't imagine where it could go now, so I suppose it will go nowhere. Sigh. And sigh about having to sigh again... ++ So I take it Alexa is a site ranking service? And we ain't doin' too good? (I never have considered myself part of the Memestream.)

By WilliamKeckler on Feb 25, 2012 at 1:56 PM

Am I hallucinating...or did they get rid of that "Objects" section with the great surreal photos/art? Or did they just retitle that? I'm having an erratic day remembering how things used to look.

By WilliamKeckler on Feb 25, 2012 at 1:45 PM

in raw numbers*

By WilliamKeckler on Feb 25, 2012 at 1:44 PM

Yeah that be the David! I think they picked it cuz it's darn funny! I just read it. It has to be a voting wonkiness issue. No, I didn't see Winnie's testimonial. I'll go check it. I didn't take a break because of the changes, but I'll admit that the break coinciding with the changes made me think "Oh Good. I'll come back and this nightmare format will all be gone." So I guess it's not. I haven't even looked at the fp's in a few weeks and not today yet. Maybe it still looks horrible? I hate the forced Facebook thing. That doesn't work for me. I read the comment chain a few weeks back and it was universal hatred of the changes. I checked this site's Alexa for fun when I was checking other sites. I don't think it's in the top 5,000 right now. Which shocked me. Wait, let me check Alexa rank now. Oh, wait. I misread. 5685 is global. It's still at 2,600 in the U.S. I wonder if it slipped after the changes, 5,800 sites linking in. Damn nice. Let me see if Memebase comes up separately. I always figured Memebase has to outdo the kittehs in wrong numbers (look at the average votes!) Hell yawl! Freaking 890 in the U.S. Membase is kicking ass. Top 1000. I knew that had to be so.

By Emerald63 on Feb 25, 2012 at 1:40 PM

Um, yeah - didn't see a single LOL I wanted to fave. Therefore the bumming.

By Emerald63 on Feb 25, 2012 at 1:37 PM

Hi Bill! That was kind of David to say (Beernbiccies, right?), and you too, but he overstated a bit. I came in second runner up. I'm not sure how it happened, either, since my link to the LOL (http://cheezburger.com/View/5868753408) has only my one single vote and 4 faves besides mine. Used to, whatever votes you got from the voting page and the FP would show up on the "plus 3" page, too. So either my offering was plucked from obscurity by the PTB (Powers That Be) or something (ELSE) is wonky with voting (AGAIN). Why can't they just leave well enough alone? They've had more overhauls in the last year than my brother-in-law wears out farming. Oh, wait... that's overalls. Nevermind. There are now so many subdivided little realms that no one of them seems to have enough people to make it fun and interesting. Have you seen Winnie's latest testimonial LOL? Boy... that was totally depressing. Correct, but depressing. Add to that that on Friday I did not see a single FP LOL from the 9 humor sites I visit regularly and I was bumming big time. I did find some lovely pics to fave at 5minute getaway, but I don't consider it a humor site. It all makes me wonder what the hell Ben is thinking. All these changes may look like a great idea from his PoV, but from out here in the trenches it's just dumb, dumb for business, dumb for keeping loyal members, dumb for fun. Sigh. But again, thanks for the congrats. I *really* appreciate it. I mean, if you get an FP but not because tons of people liked your LOL, what's the point?

By WilliamKeckler on Feb 25, 2012 at 1:22 PM

Fanks! Sorry for slow response. Haven't been on here. David told me you won the Caption Contest! Congratzes!!

I wonder if it was intentional by the photog. I saw a swimming dog pic the other day that totally reminded me of Nirvan's NEVERMIND cover. I wondered if it was a fluke or if the photog somehow "made it happen."

By Emerald63 on Feb 13, 2012 at 4:13 PM

Thanks, Bill. The second I saw the image I knew it reminded me of an album cover. Took a couple minutes to figure it out. The one on the right is even wearing a "striped shirt"!
