Thanks for the support! The way the lady I talked to made it sound, it's almost like they created the new position with me in mind but I'm not gonna get all excited about it yet since they will be interviewing lots of other peeps. Yep, my search continues and that alone may keep them from offering me the job. Who knows? Just gotta take it day by day and keep smiling - nothing else fot it, aifinkso! *hugs*
The phone rang...not the best news. Didn't get the job I wanted but they want to interview me for a brand-new position they just created for books and art. YAY! 15 hours a week. BOO! Of course I'll interview and I guess I'd take it...but will keep looking. Am submitting an online application to Indian Health Services tomorrow - me, a Fed, go fig! *chuckle* *hugs*
That's the thing about this thrift store...only those who are very young don't stay - anyone else hired on stays for years, and I think that says a lot about them. They really do consider themselves a family. Well, doesn't every family need a black sheep? ;o) Man oh man...tomorrow's gonna take forever to get here!! *hugs*
*grins* I like to think it helps that the lady who called me said, "Well, it's nice to know you're excited about the job!" I'm trying so hard not to be too hopeful because if I don't get chosen the let-down and subsequent depression will be pretty icky...but I *am* excited, all the same! I'll deffo keep you posted, sweetstuffs! *hugs*
Wow. Kaylee sounds...interesting. Thank goodness she's a canine in a doggy daycare and not a toddler in people daycare, otherwise they'd be calling a *special* doctor. ;o) I wonder if she had a heat before she was spayed; maybe she's treating everyone else as her puppy...? I do not envy her owners! No puppy kisses. *pleh* Hope you have a wondermous Friday! *hugs*
Thanks, honey! You are so right - poo-eating dogs gross me right the hell out! I get why they eat their own - survival instinct and den instinct and all that - but I wish I could keep mine out of the litterbox. Some days I feel like getting a neon sign for the wall above it that flahses and reads, "Miss Kitty's Cafe." *UGH* You still enjoying the job? Silly question, of course you are! Thanks for the good wishes. Something's coming, I just know it. *hugs*
Hiya, toots! So, shoes shined, hair combed, teeth brushed and ready to go? Just remember to play nice with everyone and you'll do fine! I just picked up an application for my favorite thrift store - everybody seemed happy that I was applying, always a good sign. Plus, bennies after 90 days - WOOT! I really don't mind that it pays just over minimum wage; I'd rather love what I'm doing. Besides, we're surviving on JA's salary so any extra income just pays for extra things! So excited! And still so happy for you! *hugs*
Aww, thank you, sweetie - it'll get our darling Phil-Tudor into Club 82. I don't know if you're cheezfriends with him or not, he is absolutely one of the best people on this rock; he's been away for a while but made an appearance this morning and my day is completely made. When you have a minute or two, go take a stroll through his LOL-closet - talk about a talented photo-editor! It's what he does for a living, actually. He'd GOOD. And he tweaks some great photos, too >;} Hope your Caturday is perfect! *hugs*
Lady, thanks for thinking my stuff is funny. It's much better to have peeps laughing *with* me instead of *at* me. ;o) Okay...food! Have you tried the Texas toast yet? Pretty much the same spread as is on the loaf - sooooo good! Am still planning on getting into CCC SOON...you'll notice how well that went today. /facepalm// *hugs*
Thanks for the kudos! *lol* Trust me, there are lotsa peeps playing the "favorites" card out there; it ain't true - I'm more of a PITA to the mods than anything else. ;o) Got a couple new recipes I need to get posted on CCC. The poor profile probably feels all neglected by me. Say, thanks for turning me onto the $Tree garlic bread - that is some seriously goooooood stuff! I like the smaller portion size as well. Does your store have the clams? We got those last week and they are seriously delicious! Hope Thirstday's been good to you thus far! *hugs*
Girl, you rock - thank you!! I know she's missing some of the "regular" harder-to-find collectibles and I don't want her to have to use any coins she may have on the Yaris...stuff. Yeah, that's the word. Stuff. ;o) Shaping up to be a beautiful weekend here - cold but sunny. Getting ready to make a $Tree run to get garlic bread and see if they have any peanut butter. I hear fresh cookies calling my name! Hope your weekend is purrfectly relaxing. *hugs*
I made an awesome find at another dollar-type store - squeezy cheese that's really good and marked down to two for a buck! I bought a case yesterday which will save big $$ because I'll use it instead of shredded cheese - and no, it is NOT about to expire. WOOT! I find it amazing that so many people *hate* Valdemart yet have to continue shopping there simply because of prices. Although...I damn near had a heart attack yesterday when I bought peanut butter. I knew peanut prices were headed up but almost $5 for a 28-ounce jar?! There's another local place that has a slightly smaller jar of Jif on sale for two-fitty; gonna buy a couple tomorrow and throw 'em in the freezer. *sigh* No, YOU is the brightness!! *hugs*
I love the online coupon that gives a buck off both the MP pasta and sauce...that's a two dollar meal with leftovers! The MP sauce really is good, BTW, and dresses up nicely. Noticed that our Dollar Tree *finally* has garlic bread in the freezer. I see a lot more homemade pizza in our future! I should try some of the dollar store pasta as well, for those times when the MP stuff isn't on sale or couponed. The GV pasta was gummy and sticky, even at al dente. Not good! Friends like you...very good! *hugs*
For the longest time JA and I did the Valdemart thing early Sunday mornings: the church folk were in church and everyone else was sleeping in. Made a discovery last night: Great Value pasta is gross. We'll stick with Market Pantry from now on. ;o) Ah...the coffee pot is making the burping sound that tells me the new brew is ready. Off to the kitchen! *hugs*
We've seen a lot of our skilled craftspersons head west for the better-paying jobs. JA's considered it but we really don't like Gillette. It's more culturally isolated than even this rancid city. *stretches* This is my recovery day after having to do the Valdemart thing yesterday. I don't know what it is about the floor there but it just kills me. I can wander around Target or Hobby Lobby like Moses in the desert for hours with no problem at all; half an hour in Valdemart and I'm limping. Same thing happens at the big home improvement centers as well. Guess my lower extremities are fussy about the places in which I shop. ;o) *hugs*
G'morning! It's going to be a beautiful day - feeling better than I have in a long time and am just so damned happy it's scary. YAY!! Okay, so I blush to admit it but I'm really happy with Trac-fone; it works out to about $120 a year and gives me more minutes than I need. I checked JA's phone yesterday and he has well over 1000 minutes. If I were willing to give them my debit card number I could simply pay for month-to month as I needed it, time only with no extra minutes...but buying the cards really is cheaper. Ah, the oil mining boom...there's a little city two hours west, Gillette, that's growing by leaps and bounds because of the mining industry. They're building housing like crazy to keep up with the influx of workers, wages are high and their economy is thriving. However, with every boom comes an eventual bust. I hope it's a far-distant thing for them. How interesting that your dentist has a friend out here. Small world, eh? Happy Moanday!! *hugs*
I hear ya on the phones. I use prepaid, too, because it suits my needs - I wish I could buy time without minutes because I have over 800... It's good to have on me in case of emergencies (or the occasional "Hey, I'm on my way home, what you want from Taco Bell?" call) and I like the camera; however, I don't text and with my vision that tiny little screen won't cut it for web stuff, even though this one has the capability. I guess I just don't understand the phone addiction. (She says as she lights another coffin nail and slurps coffee.) Hope you're having a nice relaxing weekend. *hugs*
It's awesome how long those mylar balloons will stay aloft. A friend in high school gave me one on opening night of a play I was in my senior year; I finally deflated it and added it to my scrapbook nearly two years later. O-o *heh* They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Yesterday's Dollar Tree find was a pair of purple 2.75 readers - crystal clear, no warping and darned cute. YAY! *hugs*
Our Pearl was *heavily* socialized as a youngster - she was only seven weeks old when we got her and she went everywhere with us for the first six months of her life. If she growled at someone we knew that person wasn't on the up-and-up. She was smart that way, as most dogs seem to be. Both my dogs now are big cuddle-puppies. Sophie likes nothing better than to curl up as close as she can get at bedtime, and if she can wiggle her way in between JA and I she just lies there and smiles. So kayooooot! Thinking now I should go and get some Earl Gray tea; sure could use the bergamot aroma therapy. I'll just sip some more hot coffee instead. *hugs*
