I sure would call the authorities if you had that purple crap growing. It's called 'Patterson's curse' here, and it takes over entire farms. The only thing that can eat it is a danged goat.
The dogs love to roll on the grass; it's not the same as scritching your ass on bare cement!
The lawn grows an inch or more overnight here in the wet season. I have to mow it twice a week to keep it under control!
I trim the flowerbeds with a weedwhacker! The rain makes them grow almost uncontrollably.

Yep, the rose was in my last garden before I moved; it's called 'Woburn Abbey', and the perfume was marvellous. I need to get more for my new garden; I've only planted some flowers for colour so far...and, of course, a herb garden and three chili bushes!

Actually, I'm very fortunate that one of my brothers (right next door) has a snowblower. It's been worth it's weight in gold, even if it's had to be repaired several times in the last couple of weeks -- good thing he's mechanically inclined!! :-D
