Nice to know your brain is still atomic, AB! Yeah, the Ol' ICHC, she ain't what she used to be. I do think they're *trying* to get some of the old features up and running, but it's taking **forever** and we don't know yet if they'll be as good as the old ones. Talk about violating "If it ain't broke don't fix it." As far as I can tell, you can now vote from the voting page OR by clicking on something on your DB then using the "add to my Cheezburger" button to the right of the image. You get two choices by doing that, "add to My Faves" and "add to my Site." This will increase the fave count (or it should - took forever for it to work, worked for a few days, now it looks like it doesn't hold onto the new count if you try to come right back to the image page). I don't know if increasing the fave count also increases the voting, though. That's just a guess. I was never clear on how or if voting on one of the old fave pages (with the 3 bonus extra LOLs on the right) also added to the vote tally used to put things on the FP. But at least it was an indicator of whether *anyone* thought your stuff is any good. There's been a minor change under the image on the new page set up, too. It now says it can only handle the last 25 reposts, but that must have something to do with FaceBoop. I don't use FaceBoop, so I guess I don't see any of my cheezfrends comments if that's where they're posted to begin with, let alone more than 25 of them. There is supposedly going to be a comment capability directly on the ICHC image page for anything you click over to from your DB, but I'm not sure when or if that's coming. If you go to the ICHC blog, you can find posts from Ben Hu discussing changes as they occur, as well as comment on them or make suggestions. Ya know, if you're gonna make major changes to a highly popular product, you *seriously* need to do some consumer research before you start mucking about with a good thing. Sigh... Hey Em63! I'm recovering nicely and the bike just had a couple of scratches. When you ride motorcycles it's not a matter of IF you're going to eat pavement but WHEN. You just try to be prepared for when you do. (helmets are your friends!) I still visit ICHC pretty much every day but I usually just hit my homepage and see what other cheezpeeps have been finding. I made a couple new LOLs if you want to check them out. I think the last one sums up my feelings lately. The site is still cute but it isn't the fun, communal gathering place it used to be. Yeah, I'll be handin' out Meowloween candy, too. I think I'll buy the kinds I don't like so if we have lots left over either hubby can eat it or take it to work to share. It's not that I watch my weight (I don't, even though I should), but I have food allergies. I'm just getting over being sick (yes, while I was on vacation, dammit) so I don't want to add to the gunk I'm still coughing up. So you're a scary movie afficionado? Ever seen "Warlock" with Julian Sands? The seen where he tops out the cop's radar gun - while flying vertically - has always creeped me out big time. Hmm... what else..... Ever watch the BBC show Torchwood? There's an episode from the first season titled "Countrycide" that was one of the best hours of horror/suspense I've ever seen on film. Course it only works the first time, as afterward you know what's actually going on. But still... Hitch would've been proud. Ever read any Kafka? I find his stuff horrifying... "The Trial" especially so. What about Terry Gilliam's film "Brazil"? Franz Kafka meets Monty Python. Both hilarious and deeply chilling... If I think of any others I'll get back to you. Do you have any all-time favorites?

No such luck, AB. Still hotter'n'Hades here. You know it's bad when you hear yourself saying, "My it's so much more pleasant out today," just because it's 97 instead of 107. I know from wind, too. We don't always have wind.... but when we do.... (I'm sensing a new meme here) we have 30mph standard with 45mph gusts as no big deal. In fact, Kansas is named for the Kansa Indians, whose name means "People of the South Wind." Sorry about your lawn. If I could I'd have my lawn come over to play, since it looks the same way. Sorta like letting all the kids with chicken pox play together...
Hai Emerald63! We had a nasty storm blow through today with winds around 60 mph. That was bad enough but then we only got about a teacup full of rain. Our lawn is a lovely shade of eggshell white. It doesn't matter how much we water, the sun and wind just pull it right out of the ground. Hope YOUR weather is improving!
Thanks AB for the mental "Shoo"-ings of tornadoes. :) Lord knows if we ever do get any weather it'll likely be violent. It's 109 frakkin' degrees here today!!! I'm looking forward to Friday when it's supposed to be down to a delightful 95. Hey, I see another of your cheez peeps says you're having flooding? Well, if it ain't one thing it's another, right? I've seen photos of Montana and it looks really pretty. I'm not sure I'd want to deal with your winters, though. I guess the trade off is not having to deal with our summers!
