Oh Sylvia, I just heard about you leaving us. I am happy I did get to meet you at the first and last cheezburger Mariner's Field Day. I will miss your smiles and your little notes to me. I will miss you but will always remember.
I would say you're definiely keeping fun busy :) My hubs likes FB to keep in touch with a lot of his HS friends. We're meeting with a bunch of them on a camping trip in the Trinity Lakes area in Cali in a week or so. I used to read a lot of fantasy and read the first book of Game of Thrones and then dropped it for some reason But I am totally hooked on the series. Enjoy your summer and keep in touch when you pop in.
Thanks for the congrats. I pop over here every now and then. I'm on facebook quite a bit. I've been able to reconnect with a lot of relatives I haven't seen in decades, so it's a very good thing. Also, we've gotten into the sci-fi/fantasy conventions and have found it loads of fun. Making a lot of new friends and meeting so many cool people. I got to meet Laurel K. Hamilton (she of the Anita Black series of books) back in February). We got to talk for a bit, got her signature on some of my books and a few photos. Got to meet George R. R. Martin (Game of Thrones). I have some friends who are friends of his. And just last month, got to meet the gentleman that played the Sixth Doctor in Doctor Who. He's a very charming man. So having lots of fun.
Thanks for the congrats there Sylvia. I appreciate it. Just been busy just trying to keep going, besides making jewelry for the big show in November. I only do one show a year now. It's just so hard to get around. Knees have gotten real bad but I can still walk around. It's hard but I can do it. Hope all is well with you. Take care. *HUGS*
Thanks for asking. It went real well. Did pre-recession levels of sales. That was nice. Been a while since we made that much. We were told that over 2000 people came through on Saturday. Sunday was just a little slower. I had over 2000 pieces of jewelry displayed. Sunday we finally got the card reader to work. Lost a sale on Saturday because the card reader wouldn't work. Jim had to buy an adapter for it Saturday night. On the way home Sunday stopped in at Lucky Lady's for dinner. It's a yearly thing. So now I have to re-organize all of my bottle cap jewelry pieces. yikes! I had over 1600 displayed but I've got at least triple that in stock. I'll get my ebay/holiday sale separation of stock figured out by next year. You take care and keep in touch.
Hi Barb, would have loved to come to the craft show in Spanaway to see u and ur stuff, but we have moved to Bend to be closer to son and gkids after my daughter-in-law passed and of May. We're all settled in here now and loving it. I do know I never want to move again! Hope u are both doing well.
Hi Sylvia, thanks for the birthday wishes. I'm glad to have been able to have another birthday. Jim got me a lovely present and it was just a low key day. it was wonderful. Now gearing up for the Spanaway Lake High School holiday craft show on Nov. 2 & 3 next weekend. If you end up there by any chance, my booth is in the gym, on the right side, midway down the right side isle. you can't miss it, I've got new emerald green table covers and a sparkling green backdrop. You take care now and thanks again.
So very glad Jim is doing much better. Sounds like his doc is staying on top of it. You just don't want to take any chances with chest pains. We are actually inBend, OR, visiting son and gkids and usually this time of year it is sunny and warm but we have had rain here all week too. And I packed mostly warm weather clothes. :)
Hi Sylviag, Jim is doing pretty good right now. In just a bit he's heading for his cardiac rehab class. He stayed overnight at hospital on Thursday night and came home before noon on Friday. Doc's say he had "atypical chest pain" which of course means they have no idea why. I get that 99% of the time when I go to the ER for chest pains. His doc said to just take it a bit easy, no moving boulders, and he goes to see the doc this Friday. He's been doing real good this week. He said that his chest just didn't feel right, no actual pain. So we wait until Friday and see what his doc wants to do from there. You have a great day in spite of our weather this week.
