OK, "Google is our friend," I think - pretty sure - I found it. On "Pallet Creek Rd." outside the park. On the maps, you see "San Andreas rift zone" cutting across. lo res: http://www.devils-punchbowl.com/pages/map.html ~ Higher res: http://www.devils-punchbowl.com/pdf/Map.pdf
So True BGC !!!! ... .. We should ALL give thanks for the things we have. And give thanks for the things we share with others around the world. I give thanks that we can all be together no matter how far apart. And I am grateful for special friends such as you BGC. (((((hugs)))))
"Vasquez Rocks" - yes! After all you pass it on the way. So many TV episodes and movie scenes filmed there. Star Trek, even a scene in "Short Circuit" (1980s?). "Devil's Eggs Lunchbowl" - shame of it was, I got there so late in the day, there was no time to hike! But I got to listen to an interpretative talk by the ranger; the pic was on the tour. It's outside the park on some little side road.
Woodland Hills hotter than Northridge? Maybe 'cause "teh ridge is about 200' higher...? San Joaquin Vly no no no nope. Above Antelope Valley (Cantaloupe Vally, <g>) right outside Devil's Punchbowl. Or Devil's something-or-other.
