Re "The site I bought the ticket from has a comprehensive encrypting setup.": *SIGH* I'm just not being clear enough...oh well. Let's just say if you're sitting in a CoffeBUX, you've got two sites to worry about...the web-site, and the physical site where you are sitting. Never mind, Ceiling Cat is watching over you. :-)
Arg. I left out a critical point. Forget malware attacks, what concerns me is sending sensitive information over insecure connections. Financial site log-ins (banks etc), _credit_card_info_ sent when paying at various websites. That padlock means the _site_ is secure. That's for the great big bad interNYET. Not for the wireless packets flying unencrypted through the air between laptop and access point.
No no no! That's not it at all. Mumsie, "I ain't askin' ya, I'm tellin' ya." The _website_ is secure. Yes. Fine. Over a wired connection or an encrypted wireless connection. The wireless connection you are using does _not_ encrypt traffic passing between their wireless access points and connected computers like yours. Their log-in is merely a gateway, _not_ security. You do _not_ have to be logged in to intercept traffic between customers and site (if you have the know-how, which I don't). If you "pay no never-mind" to this fact, you are relying on the grace of G-D that no miscreants are nearby. Well...probably not...but it's that "possibly" that worries me.
Meh. Even laptop keyboards can be replaced...wayminnit, didn't you do that already? btw you are on an ---insecure-- connection! That login is --not--- security, and anyone who knows how can intercept your web traffic.
It should start cooling off sometime in November, but I've been know to wilt with the heat on Christmas Day! It can get cold (to us) in January or February, but March is usually pretty nice. Heat and humidity are pretty much the norm here.
I'm not absolutely sure if the ruined wedding was real, but I think if it were staged, maybe they would have given the clergyman a break and not had him dunked. Also, I think if it were staged, maybe one of the bridesmaids would have insisted on getting in on it!
