Stumptown is a nickname for Portland. Back in the mid 19th century lots of land was cleared to make room for a quickly increasing poplulation. Lots of the stumps were left behind thus the nickname. I hope your town doesn't get all stumpy too.

Is there really a Stumptown in Oregon or are you just pulling my leg??? I live in Lumberton so you can see why I ask..... we shud be a Stumptown soon! T
