Hi! I am alive, coming up for a few seconds of air. Glad you are enjoying the books!

By beckysdad on Apr 1, 2012 at 6:37 PM

Hey there...been a long while since we chatted. I know you were really busy there for a bit and I suspect that's continued. I hope things are good despite the busyness. I've finished three of Pratchett's books now and find I'm really enjoying them. He hasn't bounced around quite so much since his first one...definitely easier to follow. Drop a line when you come up for air and let us know how things are.

Busy is okay...just wanted make sure all was well. I hope it's all good stuff that's filling up real life.

Have fun with it! The Light Fantastic is the second half of that particular story-- I just bought Nanny Ogg's Cookbook and Where's My Cow in hardcopy; those ancillary titles will make more sense when you get further along in the series.

Not a problem--I just wish the hard returns would have copied so you could keep the titles and descriptions apart from the start. Hope that helps--As I said, I started with Guards! Guards! just to pick up a book to read on the plane, and I read a few others out of order, but i re-read them in order and then the background references made more sense, etc. The audio books are great for the commute or traveling, too!

If you look on the other sites, you will see there are short stories, etc, too. Very prolific writer--should keep us all busy for a little while, at least!

you could copy and paste into a word doc--(I really think it helps to read in order as much as possible so that you get the character development and back jokes/references. ) but here it is in pieces (by tens) if you want it. see next message--

By booksncats on Jan 8, 2012 at 6:12 PM

Here's another link with the entire list--http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/p/terry-pratchett/ I could try pasting my list with the short descriptions here--I still haven't found the site--I thought it was L-space, but they may have taken it down in favor of the chart.

By booksncats on Jan 8, 2012 at 4:47 PM

you could do that. There is also the publication order list, which is what I have used, but that other chart is very helpful for figuring out how things are interelated, or for just sticking in one track. Things that happen in previous books (pub order) are often referred to across tracks--I am trying to remember where I got the pub order list with the short description that I made my personal check off list with--

By booksncats on Jan 7, 2012 at 8:26 PM

There is an order, and it does help, although not necessary. One of my very favorites is Guards! Guards! but there are a lot of really enjoyable ones--well, they all are-- Here are a couple sites--http://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/ http://www.lspace.org/books/reading-order-guides/the-discworld-reading-order-guide-20.jpg and go from there--

I see you like Eddings--fun, well written series! I have re-read it many times. Right now I am busy going through Pratchett's discworld series, and sadly, I am almost done and going back to revisit some...

By booksncats on Jan 7, 2012 at 7:42 PM

Yeah, I see your name all the time, too! I kept going over to talk to you, and kept getting "add as friend" but I thought it was just ICHC being stupid. I finally just hit the request button! Fixed that!
