I think the state lottery here starts off at $2 million. I'm not sure about Powerball. The largest jackpot for that was $365 million back in 2006.

$200 million!!! Wow!! The most we ever had was $109 million but it's mostly only 1 million.

Okay. It's only slightly different, then. Here in Florida, you pick 6 out of 53 numbers for a dollar a game with no limit to the number of tickets you can buy. You win something if you match 3 or more numbers, with the cash payout being higher with more matching numbers. They have a new thing where you pay a dollar more per each game and they pay you more for each non-jackpot winning ticket you have. We also have Powerball, which is a multi-state lottery. You pick 5 out of 59 numbers and 1 Powerball number out of 39. You have to match all six numbers to win the jackpot (which is up to $200 million as of this evening).

We have Lotto, Oz Loto, Powerball and the Pools. That's just in NSW, the other States have their equivalents as well. But the basic game is to pick 6 numbers out of 45 to win a 1st Division prize.
