Its been colder than usual. But we did have one bad spell of tornadic activity in December of all times. The floods last June were what did us in. We had a rowboat tied up to the front porch to get across the street. We were fishing off the sandbags that surrounded our houses. I had never seen a sandbag and never ever want to see another one. We had 5 feet of water in the basement even with all the sandbags. We estimated over 12,000 sandbags around the house. Thats filling them, and loading them and then stacking them.. Then, you had to remove them....no help from this piss ant city except to scoop them up from the street where you had to put them. ARGH!!!!!
Thanks hon. Funeral was today....very sad. Lost it at Amazing Grace then again at the gravesite when the gun salute went off. **sigh** I'm glad it ws so cold or I probably would have passed out. Hubby was hanging on tight and rest of family joined in. Was a great big group hang on. Then we came home and slept...finally.
BGC, you are not going to believe this one....last night and this morning, NO REACTION to anything; not to pain, light in eyes, touch, nothing! His skin was gray and only the machine was breathing for him. Everyone, including doctor said he would go quickly after machines were removed. Oh, but not this guy!!! Uh uh, no way. After removing the machines, we all sat quietly talking to him and waiting. He opens his eyes, looks around a tiny bit, then closes eyes again. Then toes start wiggling and head and hands start moving. It is UNBELIEVABLE!! He is at times responding to questions by nodding or shaking head, and when askied if he's ready to go dancing yet, he "smiled" and stated wiggling feet. Needless to say, the whole room broke down and even the preacher and the doctor are stunned. I think all the well wishes, prayers and hugs had a lot to do with it and I am SO grateful!! I will keep you updated.
That is the most egselant idea!!! Would make a wonderful thing for Seniors too!! Hmmmm....I may jsut hab to "steal" your idea for the Nursing Homes around here. Ohhh, we could be MILLIONAIRES if we thought this out.....LOL!! No, too much work. Would rather just see the smiles! Great idea hon. If ya need any help, let me know, k?
Yeah, the depression hits hard sumtimes and that night I found the pictures and just had to get it out. I guess doing that might have helped others learn that they are not alone. Kinda cool really. But am feeling a little better now. Got some sunshine on my face and head and came back here for the laffs. I think they help the most.
