I can't sleep tonite, either. Partly because there's been a pack of young coyotes running up and down the street...yipping, barking, and howling...since around midnight. The noise alone keeps me awake, but the last time we had this kind of commotion from them...we had a fairly big earthquake 4 hours later. That was 1994... And this old cat servant is getting a bit nervous.

Thank you for asking me to be your friend! I'm fine, thanks. It's a little chilly here today; we're having one of our usual autumn windstorms with gusts blowing leaves and things in every direction. I'm just hoping the young avocados don't get blown off our tree; they're not ripe yet. I'm having a cup of tea to warm myself, and thinking about what I want to fix for my breakfast. (Lifts cup in salute) So here's to YOU, my new friend.
