Great! No worries - no hurries. I really enjoyed the ice dancing competition more (although that is fraught with judging controversy also). I enjoy the artistry and choreography to music. The figure skating is getting so technical with the non-jumping interludes only for the purpose of setting up for the next big jump. The women's holy grail is the quad which i believe only one sfemale kater has atempted in competitions with 50% success.
About the Foofany - Tabbyfa tie for the Gold, sure, I'd be happy to do that. But tomorrow, since I'm getting tired. I've already thought of a "graceful" way to resolve the situation. Oh, did you see Coach Bellbottoms? http://cheezburger.com/8074935552
I watched the Women's Figure Skating tonight. And I agree with the top 2 results. The Russian Adelina Sotnikova loaded up her program with a lot of difficult elements and skated an almost flawless performance, only with one minor slip-up on a low value element, and she won the Gold. The Korean who won Silver, Yuna Kim, skated a less difficult program but did so in a much more artistic and graceful way. The way the scoring is set up, it favors difficulty over artistry, and so the Russian beat out the Korean. In this case, I believe that the result was justified.
I did see that as I read just about everything about the Olympics :) Playing Devil's Advocate I also see her side of it, This is supposed to be a measurement of perfection and to award the highest points to those who fell is somewhat of a problem. They try to explain away by saying that the difficulty of the jump warrants extra points even if not landed. I find that somehat specious as any skater could go out there and attempt a difficult jump knowing they likely would not land it, but then be given extra credit for trying? A program with a high difficulty level (even if not the highest) flawlessly and beautifully executed warrants the highe point to me (not that she achieved that). But then figure skating always seems to be the most controversial of the winter events :)
Just coincidently, did you see dat a sore loser attacked teh Russian judging in Ladies Figure Skating? http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ashley-wagner-calls-for-change-in-figure-skating-after-feeling--gypped--by-olympic-judges-205146099.html
Dat's a wonderful commix for the Sushi Foofany 2nd place controversy. I hopes dat Foffany can be vindicated an' get the Gold Medal dat eberyone knows she won an' deserbs. After all, eben Bosco after he crashed dat Russian jet and had a little speed bump in a Russian Jail, ended up being hailed as a Hero an' winning dat Gold Medal!!!
Hi Sylvia.. In case you didn't know, I learned yesterday from ED'ing a PM from Booboo to cataff that Boo has been approved for the medicine that she needs and had been refused. I'm very happy for Boo, and I know you'd be happy for her too. It's great to see such a sweet and caring person as Boo have something really really good happen to her.
