ROFL! Sounds like the boys weren't fans of neighbor-goggie! Princess Pepper is being very princessy (as usual). She can't seem to get through an entire night without getting attention. With her booming voice she's impossible to ignore. She actually did let me sleep on Friday night/Saturday morning - I guess that was her b-day gift to me, lol (Sat. was my b-day). She was back with a vengeance last night, though. She even woke hubby up and he's a heavy sleeper. Really makes me want to wake her up when she's napping, but then she does some cute curled-up, head upside down tight little ball when she's asleep and I can't do it. :-D
Of course I spent half the evening yesterday thinking about what other pairs of names might have been on your list......Lenny & Squiggy......Butch & Sundance......Han & Chewie......Milli & Vanilli...oh, wait.... :-D
Awwwwww, kitteh lub. :-) That's so cute. Those are the moments where the camera's never handy, either, right? LOL So I've always wondered, are you guys country music fans that you picked the names Waylon & Willie? We wanted to give Pepper a name that reflected her color and it turns out that it also suits her personality. Back in the day I studied German for a few years but the German word for black is "schwartz" which was definitely NOT going to make the cut. :-D
Dear Waylon: I luv chipmunks too! They drive meh crazee sumtimes tho. They eet rite in front of meh and they don't get skeered when I jump aginst the skreen dore at them - darn chipmunks. Iz gettin to sunbathe this weekend - sun feels so gud. Uncle BigRed says I have sumthin called "Solar Lunacy". I dun kno what dat is, but I kno I feel REELY good when iz in the sun. Makes meh wanna be all silly. Head butts & cheek rubs back. XOXO Pepper
I'm afraid Pepper won't be coming over to play with Waylon, lol. What a nightmare car ride that would be, lol. I knew chipmunks could climb but I didn't think they could climb metal poles! He IS a smart one. Our neighbor, who's in his 80's, can get the chipmunks to climb up onto his leg when he sits on his patio. He gives them peanuts and they like him a lot. :-D We call him Dr. Doolittle.
Sounds like Theodore's a sharp one! Is he climbing something to get to your feeder? If so, that's impressive. Our weather had been really miserable the past 5-6 days but today the heat finally broke. It's rainy but comfortable. I opened a window for Pepper this morning for a little while before I had to leave for work, and she loved the morning air. Her little nose was up in the air sniffing like crazy. She just started rubbing on my monitor - a greeting for Waylon, I assume. :-) Are he & Willie getting adjusted to the new place? Are YOU getting adjusted to the new place?
She sure is. She has been so much fun. How are things with you? How is everyone adjusting too the move? Take CAre HUGS
Hey Julie - you might be interested in this. CatChannel.com is holding a black cat photo contest. I don't think there's actually any prize, but I submitted a picture of Pepper anyway. It's at CatChannel.com/exclusives if you and Waylon want to join the fun. It looks like there are already almost 500 black cat pictures uploaded!
Maybe you should remind Waylon that his girlfriend lived on the streets for few months. :-D I do wonder if Pepper remembers that. My mom was the first one to start taking care of her when she was a stray and she definitely remembers my mom, you can see it in her behavior whenever mom comes over....Speaking of spoiled, we have a sleep number mattress and Pepper only likes sleeping on my husband's side - she gives him a major guilt trip if he tries to shoo her off. So the other day while she was there I checked the controller to see what her sleep number is, lol. There's a caption in there somewhere. Mom - sleep number 35; Dad - sleep number 55; cat - sleep number 10. :-D
That video is cute. I wondered if that's what Pepper was like as a kitten, given that she's so vocal now. I thought she'd freak out when I showed the vid to my husband yesterday but she didn't seem bothered by it at all....I think we finally got Mr. Mustache to stop spraying the house, knock on wood. We've scared him off enough times, I think. I'm starting to wonder if he's actually a stray, because I see him out at all hours of the day all over the neighborhood. Either way, whether he's a stray or has humans that don't take much care of him, I feel bad for the little guy. :-(
Oh yeah, they're little heaters, aren't they? (Or in your case, BIG heaters, lol.) On the rare occasions when I get sandwiched between Pepper & my husband it's miserable temperature-wise. Pepper wants to say hi to her boyfriend Waylon again, she's on my keyboard shelf. In true basement cat fashion she just chose the 6 key to stand on, lol!
It's amazing how much the chipmunks will take out of the seed bowls when I fill them. Trip after trip after trip with their cheeks full. Pepper about climbed the screen door a little while ago when one of them was eating. We've got temps in the 70s, the doors and windows are open, tons of birds have been visiting, she's lovin' it. :-)
LOL! Pepper started meowing as soon as I logged on so she must be saying hello and thanks to Waylon for the smooch. Oh now she's up here by my keyboard too. I guess we're writing our kitties' love letters for them now. :-D
Have you seen that "Kitteh Intimidation Fail" video on the FP? Pepper does that sometimes when the chipmunks are inches from the door. She'll scratch at the glass like crazy when we don't have it open to the screen door. Those little chipmunks are smart, though, they already know she can't get to them, and it really frustrates her that they know, lol. So do you have downstairs neighbors again in your new place who will get to listen to the boys trampling around? I've been cat sitting for some friends and one of their cats is 22 pounds. He's not flabby, though, just muscular and solid as a rock. He can really thunder around their house when he gets going. He also has trouble stopping when he gets going, lol!
Happy Caturday! Hope you survived another full work week. :-D Give the Sons of Thunder a squeeze from me!
This weather is fantastic! I'm in heaven. Princess Pepper is thrilled to be sniffing fresh air. We have a new chipmunk family under the deck, looks like 2 adults and four youngsters. They are SO cute. Pepper's teaching the young ones how to be afraid of cats, lol. They've been eating seeds on the deck near the door and she's been launching herself at the screen all evening. With all the outdoor cats around it's good that they learn cats are not their friends. Are you & the boys getting all settled?
