The defenses have been breached! :-o One of Pepper's suitors somehow managed to nick the edge of the door with a scent mark shot. He had to have gone under some stacked chairs and behind a plastic bin that partially blocks the non-opening side of the sliding door. Ugh. He/they have hit the front door a few times now, too. --Sigh--
Ohai Julie! How've you been? Pepper misses her boifrend Waylon. She's had several visitors lately but her daddeh may have come up with a good solution. He built a big frame out of 2x2s, stapled two layers of chicken wire to it and laid it in front of the glass door. So far (knock on wood) it's foiling the visitors from scent marking which is awesome! :-)
Ooh, bunny frolics! I love that! The first few years in our house we used to have lots of them in the neighborhood. There's less of them now but most summers we still have one or two living under our deck. One time one was lounging in the back yard and let out this big yawn - so cute! Pepper is fine although we had a bit of a fright about her last week. I noticed a big black bump inside her ear flap and I practically had a nervous breakdown about what it could be, but fortunately it's not anything serious. The vet says it's a type of melanoma but in cats & dogs melanomas are usually benign as long as they're not near mucous membranes, and black cats are more prone to them because they have more skin pigmentation. I was SO relieved! We still have to keep an eye on it and measure it once in awhile to make sure it doesn't grow excessively, but the vet is pretty comfortable that it won't change much further. WHEW. Didn't need that stress, lol. She sends a headbonk and smooches to her boyfriend Waylon.
I'm sorry to hear your husband hurt himself but happy that Waylon & Willie are enjoying it, LOL! Nothing like a kitteh on the lap to make someone feel better. Must be something about that hospital smell - last summer my husband had some minor outpatient surgery and when we got home Pepper had to give him the sniff test all over, too.
The boys are in heaven- my husband hurt himself and had surgery. Therefore, he's been on the recliner with a nice, warm lap and will be there for them for the next few weeks. After surgery, they sniffed him all over, Willie "groomed" his hair, Waylon curled up in the crook of his legs and there they stayed.
I'm doing well. Waylon has taken a page from Pepper's book and has taken to "sharing" the computer chair with me. He also garners attention by walking in front of the screen/stepping on the keyboard. Time sure flies between those rare vacations, doesn't it? Waylon is telling me it's treat and snuggle time and I must obey.
Willie met the little neighbor kitteh, Lulu, from next door. Not. Good. My quiet little angel got all fierce, fluffy and made growly/screechy noises I've never heard before. He also spit like a cobra. I didn't know he had it in him. After the 4 second showdown, Willie ran inside and hid under our bed- still wearing his harness and leash. He scared me and himself. Waylon was inside, looking out the screen door at all the hub-bub and followed Willie under the bed to see if he was okay. Willie says "Wominz! Moar trubble than they werf!"
