Happy Birthday, BTW *grin* !! The fancy stuff is using a markup language designed for printing books or PDFs with, particularly, mathematical formalas. It's called LATEX but pronounced Lay Tek coz the "X" is a Chi character. ( It's not new, either). *Nerdy programmers* Here's the banner: $latex \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star&bg=000000 &fg=ff0000 &s=4$ $latex \fbox{ Happee Burfday Krelm } &bg=000000 &fg=ff0000 &s=4$ $latex \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star \star&bg=000000 &fg=ff0000 &s=4$ I was posting into my own blog that I don't use until I could get it right.
Kitteh comes in as far as the back porch and looks nervously at the door. I've shut it a few times and that caused panic and running around the house then non-stop crying. I can't pick her up without her turning into a fighting, scratching machine. Have managed a tummy rub lately in the backyard but only when lying down myself and at full arm's length. Perhaps she'll change but she's never been anyone's pet so I think she'll be wild for life.
Ohai Krelm. Nice to see you again. I get very erratic responses to refresh times and some of that is due to my internet connection being on a wireless 3G network from the phone company. As I said in the LOL, the major change I can see slowing it down is the lookup of your profile information on every refresh. They not only lookup how many friends, but also display if there are any new friend requests. I'm using Firefox and sometimes I use Googol Chrome and IE, etc. The response from OZ is from 10 seconds to a minute. If you install Adblock Plus as an add-on to Firefox, then click on the red ABP symbol in the address-bar, you can see how many servers are actually involved in making the page. Not only that, but some of the content comes from sites distributed around the world to take the load. Eg, I spotted this on my firewall: http://a-61-9-129-158.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com and had to google akamait etc to figure it out. It's enough to make your head spin. Nice to see you. PB
Ohai Krelm !! Yes, I read your post in the LOL after breakfast, thanks. The corella may not live as long as a cockatoo, I think, but it has a long life. They don't harrass people with pet cockies because many were born in captivity or rescued, and so on. I lived next door to someone with a cockatoo in a cage for several years. It was a sudden surprise when it burst into full voice at sunset on our first evening. LOL. Nice to catch up, PB
