Welkum New Frend ! I have seen you in Cheezland so much, I thought we friended each other years ago. Pleese forgibs me for using your "quotes" subject, I had a funny rolling around in my head and a quote seemed like the right place to put it. Luv, ttc.
Thanks Mama!! We play Houston at Houston on Saturday afternoon. By then the cold front will have gotten that far south, too. But s'kay, 'cause our guys are used to it. Houston, not so much. ;) ++ How have you been? It has been *ages* since we chatted! If you check my front page you'll see a LOL I made about not having been around much, but that I am still here, OK, and hoping to get back to the business of chatting and making LOLs on a more regular basis in 2016. There's also a New Years LOL. ++ How about you? You been hanging in there? I know the holidays can be tough for those who've lost someone close. Even going on 9 years since I lost my folks, I teared up over something that happened recently... We went up to my in-laws for the holidays and I saw they'd pulled something of mine out of storage. (The old stone farmhouse is a storage space for all of us, including things from my parents' home after they passed.) I don't know if you saw the messages I left for others last Sept/Oct, but my brother-in-law (3 years younger than Mark) had a massive stroke on Aug 31. He's made a miraculous, almost total recovery, due mostly to being incredibly stubborn. He's had to make some adjustments, tho, like using a special recliner at his folks' house. It has a remote to lift/lower the foot rest and recline. It can also lift to help him stand. It's pretty big, so one of the end tables had to go. In it's place, to hold a lamp, TV remote, and a couple other necessities, mom-in-law got one of my folks' metal folding trays out to use. When I saw it, I had an immediate flashback to watching my mom paint the whole set many, many years ago. I think it had been a black & white herringbone pattern originally, but after heavy use she chose to use high gloss paint to restore it and make it wear a bit better. It's now cream with several large "modern" (aka blobby and not professional looking) flowers and a border in bright colors. I had totally forgotten about it, but seeing it was like having a bit of my mom there with me. My mom-in-law is not the easiest person to get along with and she's never entirely approved of me, so my own mom "being there" now is really, really special, even if it did make me tear up when I first saw it. Hold on to your "trays" too, friend, and let them make you smile whenever you see them. (((Hugs)))
Hi, yes, I'm on FB a lot. That's where my kids talk so it feels like I never left Oregon. If you search Janet Sweeney, Leon Nicaragua I think you can find me. Turns out there are hundreds of people with my name, lol. I'm trying to change my Cheezland photo to my FB one just now. Happy New Year!
